... And yup, I bought the paper for about $2 and got my first ever Red Plum issue ...

What you can do, although it is a bit more risky, is to go to the store on the following day. Most places return only the header of the front page to get refund from the distributor. They tear this off and then recycle the rest of the paper. So if you make friends in the right places, at the right times, you can go through the old papers and grab the inserts then. Since they are old there is no cost.

The only catch is Metro stores hold on to the Saturday editions for the weekend. But you can get them Sunday evening.
