Such a weird exchange at Cobbs Bread this morning. ( IN MY FAVOUR? )
Craving some of their sour dough, I ordered 2 loaves of it sliced. I also wanted make the 3 of us that dessert from Jack Astor's which
involves placing slices of soaked sugared strawberries between a sliced croissant, topping with ice cream and whipped cream.
He returns with the bread and croissants, the total was $23.50. I apologized for only having $20.00 bills on me as I handed him 2.
After opening the cash drawer he hands me 1 of the $20.00 bills back plus .50 ?? I quickly looked over at the cash screen which now showed $19.50.
He said " it's fine, I didn't feel like to breaking that 2nd $20.00 ". Score!
So confused as to why he saved me money but THANKS!! Btw, the sour dough bread was still warm!
