RCSS Flash food box $5
peppers
red onions
bag of red pearl onions
tons of limes and lemons
apples
clementines
potatoes
Came home and put all the fruit in a bowl (DS will polish off) chopped the onions/peppers and potatoes so they are all ready for dinner.
Used some of the lemons and limes for the juice to marinate the chicken for dinner.
I needed lemons for making hummus so this was the appeal of this box- the rest just helps me plan a dinner

With all the PC Optimum points available on Farmers Market pies today at No Frills, I decided to stock up the freezer:
10 x 1 kg cherry pies @ $6.00 each = $60.00
earned:
10 x 2,000 points per pie = 20,000 points = $20.00 value
6,000 points (100 points per $1.00 spent) = $6.00 value
18,000 points (receipt shows "5 on PC bakery") = $18.00 value (did not expect this one)
12,000 points (surprise 20% points offer at No Frills) = $12.00 value
for a total of 56,000 points = $56.00 value
I paid $60.00 for 10 large cherry pies and earned back $56.00 in points so that, after factoring in the points value, it works out to a total of $4.00 or 40 cents per pie!
That is one sweet deal!!!Last edited by lotsasavings; Sat, Apr 4th, 2026 at 08:12 PM.

@lotsasavings your pie purchase was so impressive!! My reliance on DH to drive as my ear infection clears
meant it was one trip to Metro for sale milk, then to Freshco ( close by ) where he bought FIVE pies. Not as
big as the ones NF carries and they were $5.00 each.
That was as good as it gets for our deals.
2 pumpkin, 1 cherry, 1 blueberry and 1 apple crumble are all in the freezer for future desserts.
btw, he hates grocery shopping so much....lol.

Large bag of Wonderful Pistachios- SCOP! at RCSS (sign said $10.00 and they rang in at $14) I could see the sale expired yesterday so made sure to get the package that matched the UPC on the sign
) They had 2 different displays and both had the $10.00 sign.
For DS's birthday bag in September- Funny I had to buy him a bag because I Scoped a large bag for his brothers birthday bag at Food basics in February.

I still think one of the best bargains I can get is 3 lbs of bananas at Costco for $1.99. This week there were 10 smaller bananas in the bunch which works out to 20 cents each-I think the cheapest fruit you can buy.
This morning I picked up high protein multigrain bread for 1.49 and 1 lb of mushrooms for 1.99 on flash food.Last edited by lizzie bargain; Sun, Apr 12th, 2026 at 01:23 PM.

I stopped at my new local Sobeys today and asked where they had marked down fruit and veg-they showed me a cart of fairly heavy bags for 1.99 each so I will be keeping an eye.
