Hello everyone! Very long time reader/lurker and first time poster.
I got some good deals yesterday that I wanted to share. DH and I visitied Georgetown to have dinner at a great BBQ place and decided to stop at Shoppers and Metro on the way home. As I was walking into Shopper and said to DH "Everyone on smart Canucks always gets great deals at Shoppers, hopefully I will find something good" and then I did!
Shoppers drug mart Trip:
7 x PC Great Canadian Coffee KCup- 12 pack (Reg 6.99) Sale $4.99 ea
1 x NN Dozen eggs- $1.77 ea
4 x Life brand tissues- .59 ea
Each box of coffee had a $3 off managers sticker! That made each box $1.99 or .17 per KCup! Expiry mid April but very well sealed in the box for freshness.
Total $18.06 (minus .25 snap saves rebates for the eggs)
180 Optimum points earned
Total saving listed on receipt- $35.52!
Metro Trip:
Skinless Bonless Chicken Breast (3.99/ lb) $9.73
Summer Fresh chicken sauces-Butter chicken flavour- FREE with chicken purchase (reg 4.99)
Midol Extra strength 16 pack- clearance $5.99-3.00 discount= $2.99
Total $13.11 with tax
Lots of shampoo and personal care deals/ clearance but I did not have my coupon book with me. From now on Never leave home without it!

Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.

repost from the frugal living thread
Some of your savvy hair SCs will laugh at this, but just learned how to do my own hair, rather than going to the salon. Saved $75.
The salon asks us to make appointments using their website. They never respond yes or no. I usually have to call and then they try to squeeze you in, at a time convenient to them, not to you.
This is the second time at this salon. At home hair dressers, had bad service too.
So my friend and I looked at YouTube videos and just finished my hair. Turned out really well. And YouTube videos have great suggestions on hair care, good products to use, good locations to get products at a good price.
So the savings will continue for the rest of the year. Estimate that I will save about $500 this year. And putting the money in Tangerine/ING (2.1% rate right now) or PC Financial (2.6% rate right now) will make the money grow even more.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Mon, Apr 6th, 2015 at 10:47 AM.
