Thread: NO Coupons @ S-O-F

Want to know why there are NO Coupons on the shelves of Save-On-Foods here in Red Deer? WELL they have coupons BUT not on the shelves for the customers to see. They actually HIDE Them at the Customer Sevice Desk. Someone told me about it this weekend. said the coupons are mostly for staff's use but will give out to a customer if they actually specify what coupon they are looking for. I could not believe this. I went in to S-O-F first thing Monday Morning, went right to CS desk & asked if they had coupons. The lady said " Coupons? ah what coupon are you looking for" I said, well what coupons are available, she pulled out a drawer, and she had a whole S-T-A-C-K of them. She asked what one I wanted, I asked for some of each, but she said there " One coupon per customer". I asked why they weren't on the shelves, she said it was because the difficulty keeping track of when they expire. All this time I have always wondered why S=O-F had no coupons, well now I know where they HIDE them. And to think - it is their own staff that gets the benefits of using them, this just isn't fair. So From now on, I will be going to the CS desk every time I go to S-O-F and ask to see ALL the coupons.

Makes you wonder if the companies that provide these coupons know their customers are not getting access to them....

You know - i never even thought about that. They would not be thrilled about it either. But boy i tell ya, i am still shaking my head over it, because theres been a few times that i have asked cashiers at Save-on why they never have coupons. but never really got much of an answer. But gee why not share them with everyone and not just the staff. seems greedy and unfair.

wth ....
grocery store coupons are for everyone. they are keeping the coupons away from those they are intended for. Expiray Date is a lame excuse.
they got no right to be doing this. who can we complain to about this ? is getting hard enough trying to find coupon , now we got a grocery store being sneaky with them, no way.

SOF doesn't "own" those coupons, there suppliers do, and they are ment for the public. I cannot believe that they are/have been doing that! Tho I am slightly in agreement with dispensing "one per customer" how many times have we seen empty pads on the shelves and we know they were just put out. That being said I think a limit of 4-6 per person is very reasonable - IMHO

They are doing themselves out of sales by hiding coupons. For example a shopper may see a new brand of cereal regular price $5.99 then the shopper thinks to expensive for something I may not like then they see a $1.00 coupon for the same product then they are more likely to buy the product.Besides the coupon is extra advertisement on the shelf to make their product stand out from the rest of products on the shelf.I saw last week a pad of $5 Kraft coupon was in the bagging area of cash register counter Save On Foods 67 St.Wouldn't it have been if it been better for the store if people saw the $5 Kraft coupon on the shelf while they were shopping then they would have been more likely to buy 5 Kraft products.

Oh I agree with you totally. I can not tell you how many times I have purchased an item just because i wanted to try it and had the coupon for. If i wouldn't have had the coupon, probable wouldn't have purchased it until i seen it on sale - maybe. It just makes it so much easier to try something new if you get to lower the cost of it with the help of a coupon. Poirot: What $5 Kraft coupon ?? When you say coupons in the bagging area? Are you referring to where they keep the hanging-bags at the self-serve checkout?

Kraft advertised in the Save On Foods flyer and on cardboard display a buy 5 participating Kraft products save $5.00 at Save On Foods. The coupon expired July 9.The bagging area is where the cashier puts the stuff after you pay it where a bagger puts the items you bought into bags.

oh you must go stack @ save-on. especially on their 15% off day ( en its in the earlier part of the month ) and you know about the save-on more points right. lol. where they h ave some items even cheaper when you redeem a certain amount of your save on points. So Stacking coupons along with redeeming points on their 15% off days can really save some money.
Just want to see them share their coupons with their customers.
