Well, we just got back from a Wake. A friend since highschool passed away last Saturday from Cancer. He was 66. Its when your friends start passing that you start thinking of your own mortality.


anyway, the Wake was huge with well over 200 people. Angie (Angelo) was Italian and His wife had Italian catering so the buffet was all cold Italian food and it was fantastic! Also different cheeses and crackers. Wine, beer, soft drinks and water as much as you wanted. Dessert was Canaloni, Lobster Tails, Italian biscotti and various italian cookies and all sorts of cut up fresh fruit. There was also a nacho and salsa bar and a candy and chocolate bar.

Today we are meeting our friends who are camping in Canmore. On the menu is

Hamburgers/veggie burgers with homemade buns
several homemade salads
corn on the cob
assorted squares for dessert

Cheese and crackers with a cup of tea.

bbq cheeseburgers and a few cheeseburger spring rolls. (they were only snack sized ones lol)

Just finished making a large cauldron of clam chowder ( using my black cast iron pot....hee hee ) and 12 extra cheddar cheesy muffins using up the rest of DH's precious Balderson cheese to do them.
Not exactly summer food but just had a hankering for chowder today.
