I am one of those people that whenever I receive junk mail, unless it is probably coupons or looks like it will save me money, it gets tossed in the recycling right away. Yesterday I was cleaning up by my front table and encountered what looked like junk mail from Rogers and instead of tossing it, I opened it up and received a nice surprise....a $25 pre-paid VISA as a thank you for giving them an arm and a leg every month. So lesson learned....always check your junk mail! I used my card at Home Depot and bought some pine boards, some brackets and a bonus pack of measuring tapes (3 for 1 ) and now have a tidier tool shed.

Great for you! It's a good reminder. Since I missed something once, now I check junk after I check my inbox.

Very good advice. In fact, I think people should try to find ways to get even more junk mail. Most of it is crap but I have saved 1000s of dollars over the years by taking advantage of junk mail. Many people decline offers to be placed on a mailing list (email or snailmail) but some of the mailings received can amount to savings for things you might otherwise pay fullprice for.
So do look through your junk mail. And try to get more of it. Most will be crap. But some of it will indeed save you money.
