Has anyone purchased a Shoppers laptop recently? I am looking for one, and thought I would use my points. They aren't listed on their website - so i cannot look up reviews

I had considered it recently, too - but then decided not to because they don't have a great return policy for electronics - just in case.

I bought the Acer laptop about 6 months ago. Bought it on a 20x event so got many many points which was big money on their bonus redemption days. The laptop is used for games by one of the kids and email and net surfing by me. There are reviews on Smart Canucks about it that are split. But for the way we use computers in my house and the fantastic price (haven't seen it for less anywhere else) it has been perfect.
Every so often SDM sends out a flyer with their electronics listed and you have to check with your store because mine only carried one or two.

Just about almost everything will have split reviews; but I agree with ottawacouponlady that my acer laptop is great! Still running fast and looks new (I use external keyboard/mouse/hdmi to 32' tv) after buying it a few years ago. It was at Best Buy though (on a Boxing Day too ), not SDM.

I have bought 2 Acer netbook, 1 HP netbook, and a Hp laptop,
The 2 Acer gave me problem, now both died.
I am still using the Hp netbook (3years old), the laptop was bought this year (6 months) and only 2 g of rams, it still running like new. You could still see it in the flyer once in a while for $299.
The best time to buy is = when they have a 20 x points and you have a % off regular price coupons. Most stores still have them in Toronto.

You're best to do your due diligence before buying a laptop.
Like with canpip1's 2 Acer netbooks - the Acers are a cheaper made computer so that they can sell at a lower price point, so depending on what you use them for, they may not last very long.

I have a acer and love it, I didn't buy it at shoppers though. But have had it for almost 3 years.
