is it cheaper and better to buy canned food in a case? or seperately?
one store is selling their tins at $1.65 and if you buy a case, they give you 3% off
another store charges $ 1.79 a tin and you get 5% off
both include 24 tins a case
which is a better deal?

$38.41/case or $1.60/can for the first store.
$40.81/case or $1.70/can for the second store.
Hope that helps!

It would depend how often you feet your cat(s) canned food, as well.
We have two cats, and they get one can per week - 1/2 can shared, two days apart.
They eat dry the rest of the time, so I only keep four or five cans on hand.
We buy Friskies and I get them when they are .50 per can.

Petsmart used to price match their online US prices!
I'd just bring the print out. Give your store a call to double check though.
See if they still do- prices are usually cheaper.

I think $ 1.79 a tin and you get 5% off is the better deal no problem if its price is little high than the first one but its giving you a 5% discount which will save your money.
