How does one buy physical silver in a tfsa ? but then again if its used for bartering what would the tax liabilities be?
I`ve read somewhere that the buying power of gold and hopefully silver has stayed the same from the turn of the century till present day whereas the $ has lost 92% of its value in that same time..but I cant find the link !

You can own Gold/Silver in their bullion funds (allocated form) in a TFSA account. Here are the link for those which are fully allocated (& stored in the vault). They have $1000 minimum, & $100 subsequent purchase..

There are several ETF's one can buy, but you have the trading cost (cost to buy, & cost to sell), account maintenance charge, etc...

Regarding the devaluation of Currency in the last century (since the formation of Federal Reserve): In 1913 an ounce of Gold was $20 USD, & now today its $1545 USD, so do the math: Its still the same ounce of Gold, but now you need $1545 USD to buy it, compared to $20 USD in 1913).
Its is in USD, however, each currency has a similar valuation..

Greece an inch closer to bankruptcy, US one step closer to next stimulus (more money printing): & the net result - Gold hit an all time high & Silver straight to the moon (over 5.5% today)..

I don't think things are gonna improve anytime soon!! Wish I had bought Gold when it was low!! Oh well, glad I started couponing 2 yrs ago & have no debt. We rent & have no credit cards!

Yes, That's why I have telling SC'ers in this blog to stack up on Silver (as much as possible). Because Gold (at $1615) is out of common man's budget; whereas Silver (at $40) is reasonable enough so everyone can afford..

& King world news is very reliable source of info..
