Okay very excited about my SDM shop today. It was not a 20x day or a redemption day but I still left just as happy. I have been running low on baby supplies and SMD had a gas card promo so I figured I would try to make the most of both. So here is what I got:

I started if buying $75 in GC for 750 pts. Then:

    2 x Aveno Baby Bath $7.99 x 2 = $15.98 – 2 x $3 (call in) = $9.98 and 2000 in store BP
    2 x J& J Bubble Bath $4.99 x 2 = $9.98 – 2 x $1 (save.ca) = $7.98 and 2000 in store BP
    2 x Huggies Refill Wipes $5.99 x 2 = $11.98 – 2 x $1 (insert) = $9.98
1 x Pull Ups Training Pants $16.99 – 1 x $1.50 (insert) = $15.49 - Had a Cars Pin so now I can get my DD the lights and sounds die cast car.
All my baby products totaled 43.43 before tax, so I used the 8000BP WUS$40 printable coupon

    3 x Cascade 15 pks $3.99 x 3 = 11.97 – 3 x $1.50 (brandsaver) = $7.47
    2 x Tylenol night $11.99 x 2 = 23.98 – 2 x $5 (printable living well) = $13.98 and 2000 in store BP and 1500 printable BP coupon
    2 x John Frieda Hair Repair $5.99 x 2 = $11.98 and 2000 in store and 1000 mail out BP

Total before tax and coupons = $102.86
    Coupons - $26
Total before tax $76.86 (Qualified for the $20 gas card)
Total OOP including $12.01 in tax (seriously ON Gov enough with the tax!) = $88.87
    I paid with my pre-purchased GC’s and $13.87 cash

Even Better I earned 17270pts!!!! (apprrox $22 value) and a $20 gas card and DD has all she needs for a month! Everything I purchased I used coupons or BP coupon or both!

I think I wrote printable first but it was actually a mail out in a booklet with the trial size I got a few weeks ago. If you go Sat Sun or Mon you get 1000BP automocatically for each JF product. The sale ($5.99 each)is on the full repair and NY line and there were tons at my local store at 2pm today.

I was just wondering, if you use gift cards to pay, do you still get normal optimum points on the amount you used with gift cards? So you get 750 points for buying the cards, then do you get another 750 for paying with them? If so, thats even more amazing!

Absolutley you are correct. The only cards SDM offer points on when you buy them is their own. You will always get the reg points when you buy the cards then again on the total when you use them to pay for the purchase. I find many cashiers try to tell me that I will not get points when I buy the cards. I always ask them just to scan my Optimum card and low and behold - points. If you can get the points on the gift card it just makes good sense to get them first. I also helps build your reg points balance towards Plus status where you get more BP offers. Hope this helps!
