No...not necessary.
Sharon was very poor, with a disable Single Mom, from a poor part of town.
So it stands to reason that medical care during her teenage pregnancy was little to none, especially since she planned to give the baby up for adoption once born.
So it is possible that she was pregnant with twins and didn't know it, especially as this woman (Mariah Mom) is an OB nurse, and was probably the one who deliver them.

And the fact that him and Y&R couldn't come to a deal, makes me think he might have some thing else in the works .
Then if that come through, we only need GH to hire Billy.
