I just changed my car and condo insurance over to TD Meloche Monnex today saving me $420/year. This is all because I am an Alumni of the school I did my undergraduate degree. There are a whole bunch of different groups that qualify, whether it's your post-secondary institute or you're a CA, or other possible groups. I thought this was quite good considering it's saving me $35/month.

I switched recently, and saved quite a bit as well. I even upped my coverage, and it still costs less! Excellent deal !

We don't use a specific company.
We use an insurance broker who shops for insurance for us.
One stop shopping.
We do the same for our mortgage renewal - use a mortgage broker.

I was through an insurance broker as well. And they couldn't give me anything close to this probably because of the group discount. Like kellyanna, I actually have better coverage now for a good chunk less a year.

I went through kanetix online, but just called up td meloche monnex on the advice of my SIL, if I remember. She has a great deal with them as an alumnis' , so I tried as well. I don't remember kanetix having them as an option, if I remember.
I had been with the ex's insurance company since marriage, and since he's now an ex, I didn't want to stay with the same company where the rest of the family was, I had no idea I'd save $ as well!

I'm with them too. I had wonderful service through the Co-Operators. Then we moved out of province and I very much disliked the local Co-Operators office here. So I switched, and so far so good-although I haven't had to make a claim yet *knock on wood*!

hmmm i was with TD for awhile but they kept jacking my rate so i said enough and have been with Johnson for some years now. I find Johnson offer better rates and way better services. No call centre - i get an actual account manager that i deal with one on one.

I had an auto claim recently and there were some 'complications' on my side of things. TD Meloche Monnex handled my claim professionally and quickly even given the circumstances.

was with MM for years , then i had a major +++ hit and run car accident (brain damage , major internal injuries etc), MM paid a minimal income replacement for 2 yrs ...but i was permanently disabled and they refused to settle the main part of the claim, now we have to go through lawyers to get them to settle , and it could be tied up in knots in the courts for years ,,,they were cheap insurance but only paid out the minimum before stopping any more payments that i was entitled to ,(one person we spoke to said it would have been more beneficial to my family if I'd died) ....sorry to be such a downer on this but it probably was the biggest insurance mistake i made changing over to them .. its been over 5 yrs and we're still waiting for the lawyers to reach a decision

That's terrible. You might have been in the same situation with any insurance company though. Auto insurance is heavily regulated and there has been a lot of discussion as well as changes with respect to injuries since the 2004 insurance reform. Injury claims can take a VERY long time to settle just as a general rule. As disgusting as it is, your family might have received more in the event of death. It's an insurance issue, not necessarily an MMI issue. Still, I'm sorry about your experience. (as a disclaimer...I'm not in the claims dept...just putting in my 2 cents)

ty i tried to remove the post , I'm usually so upbeat and cheery and it read like a" debbie downer " thing
it was my 1st ever claim , and they are probably a great company for smaller claims etc .
