I was thinking of throwing together a chicken and rice dish in the crockpot but my Campbell's soups I was going to use expired exactly 2 months ago. Would it be safe? Taste the same? TIA

Well I appreciate all the input, I went ahead and made the dish. It turned out terribly; not because the soups were expired but likely because I am a horrible cook lol. We tried to eat it but ended up getting Dominos instead. Making a mental note to spend more time in the food and recipes forum!

Rest assured it is safe to eat canned soup 2 months past the best before date.
A good article regarding expiry dates and best before dates: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/...rticle5381341/

Myself, no, wouldn't have eaten it. After two weeks maybe, but two months, no. Food can look fine, smell fine, but not be fine.

I absolutely would. Just pour it out in a bowl and have a look at it before adding it to anything in case it has gone off.

We argue about that all the time here, lol.I would have used it and not worried-I've always believed "best before" means just that, not "rotten the next day" like some members of my family.Mind you, these are the same family members who think week old turkey is just fine, lol.Go figure.
