They were also clearing
salads, hummus, dips, Lou's bacon, all with long expiry dates, mostly saw 70% off
Circo kids lamps were restocked (saw 4 different kinds) scanning at $5 still reg. $29.99 to $34.99
Men's boxer underwear 50% off, mostly saw licensed.
Some sheets now 50% off that weren't clearing last week.
Christmas seasonal now replaced clearance section of housewares, lightbulbs, bedding, gardening and school supplies which are all now gone.
Calphalon cookingware now gone except for stirfry pan.
Juicers still at $74.99 50% off (but didn't scan it).

I'm loving these deals but there's just something about "clearance food" that gives me the heebie jeebies lol I guess as long as the dates are good it's alright. I just wonder why they were clearing out cheese that doesn't expire for 6 more months.

Got threshold sheets and fitted sheets on clearance but the matching pillow cases were not on clearance (the cost more than the sheets!). I wonder why that is....only that color was on clearance - so why wouldn't the pillow cases need to be cleared too?

Also saw a ton of automotive stuff on clearance in the Orillia location. I got 4 cans of wd-40 for just over a dollar each. People saw the price as I was in line and they got out of line to go and get some! Lol.

Repackaging, no longer selling it, etc, etc. Plenty of reasons having nothing to do with the quality of the food.

In my store there was cheese with different packaging alongside some of the clearance ones, so that's probably the whole and only reason it's being cleared out.

Agree with Annedougherty. Also, hard to predict how quickly the stock will move and need the shelf space for new products or another shipment of same items coming in.

I find you really have to look at the dates, some are ok but most are very close or have already gone past. Each store is different, some have better Shelf life than others. Also note if it says best if used by, thats not the same as best before..

most often it's changing of packaging styles.. the new cheese coming in has a smaller package size (a 450g vrs a 500g) so they are clearing out the old stock for the new stock, when they cleared out pizzas a few months back it's because the box image changed same with the fries/taters, sometimes things come in with a seasonal image or logo on them or was brought in for a special sale and sometimes they find they have a product on the shelf that just in general isn't moving (like the vanhoutte coffee) and they clearance them to get rid of the stock to open up the shelf for another brand
