Hennadiy Levytsky, call sign “Zona”, died in combat with an enemy special ops team on August 30, 2017 near Maryinka, Donetsk Obl. while covering his wounded comrades-in-arms.
Hennadiy was born on April 9, 1976 in Maryivka, Mykolayiv Oblast. He first served as a volunteer fighter in the Ukrainian Volunteer Army “Volyn” and then in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Hennadiy leaves behind his mother and younger brother, who is also fighting in Eastern Ukraine.

Meet Lieutenant Vasyl Tarasyuk, call sign “Typhoon”, who single-handedly faced an enemy tank near Avdiyivka. Ordering his men to take cover in the trenches, he grabbed an anti-tank grenade launcher and destroyed an enemy T-72 tank!
Vasyl took part in some of the heaviest winter battles in Avdiyivka PromZone where he was wounded three times.
On Independence Day 2017, he was awarded the Golden Hero Medal by the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Serchenko, call sign “Apelsyn” (Orange) was killed in Avdiyivka forest on September 3, 2017.
Volodymyr was born on September 26, 1983 in Novoivanivka, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He lived in Zhovti Vody.
Volodymyr served as Senior operator in the communication division of the 39th Battalion “Dnipro-2”, 55th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. In July 2016, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces. In June 2017 he was discharged from hospital and returned to the front lines.
Volodymyr leaves behind his wife and two children, a 10-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.

Oleh Dynka, call sign “Yeger”, was killed when he stepped on a tripwire mine on September 6, 2017 near the village of Pisky, Donetsk Oblast.
Oleh was born on October 25, 1974 in Hryhorivka, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. In 2014, he joined the Zaporizhzhya Maidan Self-defense Corps and participated actively in the NGO “Vilni Liudy” (Free People). When Oleh was refused by the Ukrainian Army, he enlisted as a volunteer fighter with Pravy Sector. He took part in many counter-diversion operations.

Roman Rykalov (March 24, 1992–July 29, 2014) was laid to rest in Kropyvnytsky, Kirovohrad Oblast on September 5, 2017.
On July 29, 2014, a group of men led by Lieutenant-Colonel Serhiy Lysenko went out to search for the pilots of the downed SU-25 and fell into an enemy ambush.
The Ukrainian soldiers were greatly outnumbered; Lieutenant-Colonel Serhiy Lysenko, Captain Kyrylo Andriyenko, Sergeant Anatoliy Bozulyak, First Sergeant Andriy Shershen, Senior Soldier Yaroslav Shymchyk, Senior Sergeant Olexiy Hlobenko, Senior Soldier Lev Pankov, Senior Soldier Sergei Hryshyn, Captain Taras Karpa, and Senior Soldier Roman Rykalov were killed in combat.
For many months, Roman Rykalov was listed missing in action, but his identity was recently established after several DNA tests.

Ihor Telyuk was killed by an enemy sniper bullet in Avdiyivka PromZone on September 7, 2017.
Ihor was born in the village of Klavdiyeve on September 30, 1979, but lived in the village of Babyntsi, Kyiv Oblast. He served in the 1st Battalion of the 72nd Separate Motorized Brigade.
He leaves behind his mother, wife and daughter.

Kostyantyn was born in Shostka, Sumy Oblast on March 9, 1978. He served as a sniper in the 13th Battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.

Severely wounded in the war in Eastern Ukraine, this man is living proof that life is beautiful and worth living: in 2015, he performed his first parachute jump and on August 16, 2017, he conquered Mount Hoverlya, the highest summit in Ukraine (2,061 metres).

Maksym Kryvidenko was killed during heavy enemy shelling on September 9, 2017 near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast.
Maksym was born in Sarata, Odesa Oblast on January 30, 1994. He participated actively in the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv. In March 2014, he was one of the several hostages held by Aksionov’s occupation regime in Crimea, where he was imprisoned and severely beaten and tortured for several days.
With the onset of the war in Eastern Ukraine, Maksym left his home in Odesa and joined the ranks of a volunteer brigade fighting the Russian invaders. He then enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 18th Battalion “Odesa” of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
