The Christmas truce announced ahead of the Orthodox Christmas has lasted for almost 24 hours but on Sunday afternoon, the enemy resorted to armed provocations and breached ceasefire accords reached by the Tripartite Contact Group in Minsk, according to a report by the press center of the Headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

Vladyslav Shcherbakov, call sign “Freeman” was killed in the war zone on December 31, 2017.
Vladyslav was born in Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast on October 14, 1976. He resided in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Oblast. He completed his studies in zoology at the National Agrarian University in Bila Tserkva.
On February 23, 2015, Vladyslav joined the Azov National Guard, and later served in the 1st Battalion of the Kulchytsky National Guard. Towards the end, he enlisted in the Donbas Battalion of the 15th Separate National Guard Regiment “Slovyansk”.
Vladyslav leaves behind his mother, wife and two sons.

Oleksandr Chehurko died in the war zone (Volnovakha Raion) on January 2, 2018. Ukrainian Military headquarters affirm that he was not killed in combat and the circumstances of his death are currently under investigation.
Oleksandr was born in Shershentsi, Odesa Oblast on July 16, 1987. He enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as soon as the war broke out, in April 2014. He served as senior sergeant and reconnaissance officer in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Oleksandr leaves behind his parents and fiancée.

21-year-old Vasyl Hryn died in the war zone on January 7, 2018. Ukrainian Military headquarters affirm that he was not killed in combat and the circumstances of his death are currently under investigation.
Vasyl was born in Batrad, Zakarpatska Oblast on January 1, 1997. He served in the 128th Separate Infantry Brigade.

Volodymyr Anadymb was killed by shrapnel in the neck near the village of Novoluhanske, Donetsk Oblast on January 10, 2018. He died on the way to the hospital.
Volodymyr was born in the village of Fedorivka, Kherson Oblast on October 14, 1986. He resided with his family in the village of Terebleche, Chernivtsi Oblast. He served as senior soldier in the Donbas battalion of the 15th Separate Regiment of the National Guard.
Volodymyr leaves behind his grieving wife and two sons.

Hennadiy Vehera, call sign “Zeleny”, was killed with his mate when their BRDM-2 hit a mine near Pisky, Donetsk Oblast on January 10, 2018. The vehicle was crossing a river… the blast was so powerful that vehicle parts were scattered over 200 meters.
Hennadiy was born in the village of Kurylivka, Khmelnytsky Oblast on May 10, 1980. He served in the 34th Battalion of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.
Hennadiy graduated from college in Poltava. In 1998-2000, he served in the 3rd SpecialOps Regiment in Crimea, and during the next 6 years - in a special paramilitary unit. When war broke out, Hennadiy volunteered and went to fight in Horlivka in May 2014. In March 2015, he was sent to the 128th Brigade in Kramatorsk to guard the headquarters. He was seriously wounded in the legs in Luhansk Oblast. After treatment and rehab, he served as a security officer, escorting military doctors along the contact line. He was on the frontline again in the autumn of 2016, and in May 2017, he returned to the 34th Battalion near Donetsk Airport.
Hennadiy leaves behind his grieving wife and three daughters.
