This marks third targeted car bombing in Ukraine in less than a year. Sheremet (Kyiv), SBU officer (Mariupol), Military Intel cmdr (Kyiv).

Two young Ukrainian soldiers were killed on July 24 in Luhansk Oblast – Oleksiy Ishchuk and Vasyl Lavrysh. Both served in the 8th Special Operations Division.

Oleksiy was born in Zasluchne, Khmelnytsky Oblast in 1990. He leaves behind his father and younger brother.

Vasyl was born in 1988 in Stryy, Lviv Oblast. He served as an intelligence officer, enlisted in the army in 2014 and took part in some of the fiercest battles – Donetsk and Luhansk Airports, Lutuhyne, etc.

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine reports that children from the age of 15 continue to be involved in active hostilities as part of the combined Russian-separatist forces in the Donbas.
State Department of the United States on the situation with human trafficking in Ukraine: The conflict fueled by Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine forced almost two million people to move, and this population is particularly susceptible to exploitation. Valery Aleksiychuk was born on 1 January 1968 in the village of Borshchivka, in the region of Rivne, Ukraine. He attended the major seminary of Drohobych and on 29 March 1992 he was ordained a priest.
In 1993 he entered the Univ Holy Dormition Lavra of the Studite Fathers and on December 21, 1995 made his first vows, taking the monastic name Venedykt (Benedict). He obtained a doctorate in spiritual theology from the Catholic University of Lublin, Poland.

He's had ministries through Ukraine, Belarus, Canada, and Tunisia.
He was elected as auxiliary bishop of Lviv of the Ukrainians on August 3, 2010, and was consecrated September 5.

For today's enthronement, Patriarch Sviatoslav from Ukraine was there, and gave the homily.

Soldier Yuriy Pomazan, call sign "Naum" died in an accident on June 26,2017.

Yuriy was born in Chupakhivka, Sumy Oblast, but lived in Kharkiv Oblast. He served in the 501st Separate Mechanized Navy Battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade. He participated actively in the Revolution of Dignity, went to war as a volunteer from the very beginning, and took part in some of the fiercest battles in eastern Ukraine– Savur Mohyla, Ilovaisk, Shyrokyne, etc.

He leaves behind his wife and daughter.

as previously posted about --- a car explosion in central Kyiv killed Maksym Shapoval, a colonel, who served as a special forces commander at the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate

On the same day in the morning,

A car explosion at 19:00 on 27 June 2017 took the life of Yuriy Voznyi, a colonel with Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), and wounded three others in the vehicle. The explosion took place in the village of Illinivka in Donetsk Oblast, 25 km from the frontline in Donbas. The incident has been classified as a terrorist act and is being investigated by Ukraine’s military prosecutor’s office.
Anton Herashchenko, advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of the Interior, said that Voznyi served in the counterintelligence.

Maksym Kernychny was killed by artillery fire from an enemy T-72 tank near Pisky, Donetsk Oblast on June 29, 2017.

Maksym was born in Zhmerynka, Vinnytsia Oblast in 1978.
He leaves behind his wife and son.

23-year-old soldier Nadiya Morozova was killed during shelling near Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast on June 26, 2017.

Nadiya was born October 27, 1993 in Okny, Odesa Oblast. She graduated from Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky School of Law and Economics. From 2013 to 2016, she stayed at home to raise her newborn son and help in family affairs. In 2016, she enlisted in the Ukrainian Army and served in the 59th Separate Mechanized Infantry Brigade.
Nadiya leaves behind her parents and a 4-year-old son.

Soldier Oleksandr Dudchenko, born 1988, was reported MIA on July 19, 2014 near Marinivka, Donetsk Oblast.
Thanks to recent DNA recognition, his remains have finally been identified and laid to rest in his hometown.
Oleksandr’s IFV fell into an ambush near Marinivka, separatist-held territory in Donetsk Oblast. It is highly likely that Oleksandr was killed in captivity.

Notes posted by Strelkov (Russian army artillery veteran who played a key role in the Russian occupation of Crimea, and later the war in Donbas as an organizer of the “Donetsk People's Republic's” militant groups) in “NovoRossiya Summary” in VKontakte on June 19, 2014: “Today, a Ukrainian IFV of the 72nd Brigade “strayed” into our territory despite being hit twice by our anti-tank artillery. We managed to get two guys - one was dead, the other was wounded, and we took him prisoner. He was from the First Company of the First Battalion of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He told us that most of the soldiers in their company are convinced that they’ll soon win this war.”
