ACK! A new kitchen appliance that I need now! I love kitchen things, and I do use many of the things that I own (although there are some things that I buy that turn out to be not very useful). I have a mandoline, which would make potatoes very tasty in an appliance like this. But I'm gonna wait for a sale.

I have one but I rarely use it any more. It is good for french fries and some wings but without temperature control sometimes you have to cook for longer than you set the timer for.

I find the frozen french fries taste better then the homemade ones.... once we use up the bag of potatoes I bought Im going to buy a big bag of fries from costco.... wasnt too impressed with the chick peas I cooked... havent tried wings yet, because every time I go to buy some they are too expensive....

I'm going to slightly revise my previous review. I bought another secondhand for $15, and I have made fries and tater tots in it and both turned out GREAT. No 'baked' taste which is one of the reasons I rarely have fries. The tots did taste a LITTLE different than deep fried, but the fries were pretty spot-on, I doused them in gravy and cheese and would never know the difference.
A few of my tots got crushed, but even the crushed bits were yummy.
The Big Fail as I expected was trying to do handmade corn dogs. I froze them first and that very much did not work. For foods with a batter of any kind, or something you want to hold its' shape, it must be previously cooked in some way. I'm debating on whether to do a quick dip in a real deep fryer to start a crust and then cooking them with no oil in the actifry.
Spring rolls may be my next thing to try, or those egg rolls from costco that are already greasy enough. Also going to try chicken bites or wings.
It's worth what I paid for fries and tots, but maybe not worth $150 for anyone else for just those things. Going to have to experiment.
