Nice.
I heard some Metro stores are converting. To Food Basics?
Wonder if this is in response to Target being in Canada

Sad to hear some stores are closing/converting to FB but it actually doesn't surprise me. They've lost my business completely as I just shop at 1 store now - RCSS and do ALL my PMing there now. Metro doesn't PM. WM too have lost most (if not all) of my business due to their poor customer service and extreme restrictions on coupons I very rarely shop there now. I only do if there is a great clearance sale and will just go in if absolutely necessary.

I have 2 Metros close to me ..literally 15 mins walk from each other , I think one of them might be converted to Food Basics soon as one is empty most of the time & the other one is busy ( as its in a major shopping centre with major bus terminal etc )
The other one doesn't have much traffic due to this ..although their rent might be less ..so not sure which one will be converted to Food Basics ..the busy one or the not so busy one.
I have kind of heard the staff talking about that without going into detail/specifics. I see lot of shelves being moved around and fixtures being moved around ..and its already looking like a Food Basics but without the FB logo & prices .

I'd prefer to shop at FB than Metro. Don't know if the one nearest my house will be convert to FB but I am worrying. Sucks for the Metro employees though bc of less pay and benefit.

Sure hope my local Metro becomes a FB. Service is lousy so hope the majority of the staff does not stay on. It would be so nice to not have to argue for every coupon.

I am exactly like you. I drive by FB, NF, Freshco, Walmart and also ignore two Loblaws and valuemart near me to get to the RCSS and do all my shopping there due to the exact same reasons you mentioned above. I love the fact that they are extremely accommodating in price matching and couponing. I would never put foot in Walmart anymore as the way they examine coupons is like they are studying for a final exam and they find stupid reasons to reject. I just LOVE my RCSS.
