Paying it forward: had a visitor at my work, looking for coupon sharing ideas!!

The other day at work, reception called me. I was needed at reception, there was a man here to see me.

I couldn't understand why as we don't do face to face meetings.

I went up to see what was going on, and this man introduced himself as the owner of the cleaning company that cleans our office space.

My heart instantly sank. One of the cleaning staff has been bringing me I coke pins, before they go to the recycle bin......and I am giving her coupons from my stash. She is a hard worker, and has speech hearing impairments but is sweet as the day is long.

I thought, oh no, I have gotten this lady in trouble.

Nope, that wasn't it, he had heard that I coupon and the receptionist was telling him what I do.

He thought that was amazing, and wondered if i would go for coffee with him and share my tips tricks with him.

I immediatley turned him on to SC! My coupon bible!

We chatted for a bit, and he wants to help his staff save money, and he is largely involved in the community and thought we could partner up and help people in our community to save money.

I was immediately excited, what SC'er doesn't like to talk coupons, deals, and savings!

So we are meeting for Coffee, next week. He even offered me the boardroom at his company to have meetings.

i love to public speak, and I love saving money even more. It will be interesting to see where this takes us!

Good for you and the community, just think of all those people you will help. Remember the saying you can give a man a fish and feed him for a day or you can teach a man to fish and feed him for life. What an awesome opportunity to pass on some knowledge and meet some new friends. Kind of jealous.

WOW! Doesn't it feel good that what you are doing is valued by other people....? That is awesome....it actually makes me feel bad when I see people shopping without coupons now...I try and RAOK whenever I can....

I will do. I am sooo excited. Great for networking, great to share information, and I love to get on the coupon soap box. Anytime any one asks me anything I say....smartcanucks. Thats all you need to know about couponing. I would be lost with out it.
The Better news is, THANKS to SC I heard about the HP touchpad sale. I got myself and hubby one this morning. I will be able to take my touch pad, and the site to my coffee meeting.
I can show him pictures and information and the great people on here!!!

Great stuff, Itsjill. Wonderful public speaking opportunity for you and an introduction to so many thrills for your audience. A colleague and I are putting together a Lunch and Learn at work. More and more people want to know about SC and couponing. Funny though, because at first they laughed at our obsession, but once they saw the freebies and savings they sang a whole different tune.
