Well, I have to have a scan today. I wasn't expecting this, but I am glad they got me in on a priority booking. I'm having a little bit of trouble navigating.
Keep your fingers crossed for me please. I won't get results today, but at least I'll have the scan behind me.

Have you ever wondered "Why" as Annie Lennox asked?
& was it days of future, or days of future passed?
Do you think that Lola was a good influence on The Kinks?
& isn't there a band that's called 182 blinks?
Is it true that Roxy Music is stylish & kinda swanky?
& did you know that Phil Collins is not so lean & lanky?
Do you like The Cars or Talking Heads & just what are they saying?
Have you heard that Sting practices delaying?
Do you like the botox in Tom Jones & does Delilah like him even more?
& do you like those protest songs that make us wish there was no war?
Do you think that Alfie figured out what’s It All About?
Wasn’t it Gwen Stefani who showed us there was No Doubt?
Didn’t Dire Straits teach us to do the Walk of Life?
& why does old Rod Stewart seem to have wife after wife?
Does Barry Manilow really write songs that make the whole sing?
Didn’t Johnny Cash have a hit regarding a burning fire & its ring?
& was it not Bob Jovi who quipped to all have a nice day?
& do you think Lady Gaga was really born that way?
Remember dancing to colour your world with your honey so slowly?
& do you think Led Zeppelin belongs in houses that are holy?
Do you think Pink Floyd is a euphemism for something undefined?
& don’t you think listening to music is a great way to unwind?

Loocie, questions like that might require us to Imagine like John Lennon
but that would take time and thankfully Jim Croce's bottle was no lemon
If we had to make a guess at one, two, three or four around the clock
Bill Haley and his Comets would inspire us as we rock
Can we use our new fancy Raiders APP on our cellular phone
or will Paul Revere protest as he is not our stepping stone?
walkonby out!

For walkonby. Jim Croce was one of my faves. Fancy me having a Jim Croce poem in my files eh?
With respect & a heavy heart I dedicate this poem to him,
I sure wish we still had the privilege of messing with that guy named Jim,
A story telling troubadour with the gift of charm in song,
Your stay with us in this world sure didn’t last too long,
A kind & gentle soul that radiated spirit & hope,
Your words & song resonated life on such an idyllic scope,
There are few who painted a clearer picture of people we felt that we knew,
Like when Leroy Brown was a’scufflin’ you could have been right there too,
Sometimes romantic & dreamy, sometimes zany & even prophetic,
You’ll always be treasured by people who found you so magnetic,
I wonder what you be doing if your presence was still gracing us?
We’ll never know the answer, but it sure would have been a plus,
Bless your sweet gentle soul forever with this salute of gratitude,
You sure were a guy who charmed so many & thus one helluva a dude.

ahhh!! Loocie, I went through a very sad dark time when we lost Jim Croce, Harry Chapin and John Denver. Your library of verse must be huge!!

I’m going to give it shot & compose a few lines specifically all about rain,
Many songs have be written, why just think of the Rain in Spain,
CCR sang Who'll Stop The Rain & to that I don't think there's an explanation,
I Wish it Would Rain was a serenade given to us by The Temptations,
It's Raining Again by Supertramp certainly sums up this day,
& Rainy Day People by Gordon Lightfoot kinda says what a heart should portray,
Purple Rain by Prince isn't exactly uplifting & upbeat,
& who can't forget Gene Kelly Singing in the Rain & dancing his way through the street?
James Taylor sang about Fire & Rain & that was tragic & I think a little bit of a lament,
& if you listen to Raining In My Heart by Buddy Holly it will be an exceptional 3 minutes spent,
Mandolin Rain by Bruce Hornsby will probably take you back to the eighties decade,
& Rain Fall Down by the Rolling Stones is another funky song to which I have swayed,
I know there are many more rain songs, by my think cap is tapped,
So if you're going outside take your brolly, or in a cloud of rain you'll be trapped,
A good day to stay inside, read a book or catch up with someone you are missing,
Also not a bad day to cuddle up with your honey for some kissing.

Fireworks at the cottage, you can hear them & feel them explode?
Impressive colours will sizzle; is that pyrotechnics morse code?
The boom is loud & it echoes & scares the dog out of its wits,
You can write your name with sparklers, but only until the thing quits,
It is Canada Day my compatriots, don't you just love living this life?
You can be anybody's husband or anybody's wife!
We are in fact a nation that keeps on evolving & growing,
Yet we are so blasé about Can-ad-isms, when in fact we should be crowing!
There are issues that we are facing, when don't like it please write your MP,
I've had some patronizing reply when I crabbed about paying hydro "delivery"!
We have hockey, lacrosse, smarties, poutine & Nanaimo bars,
Butter tarts, coffee crisp & beaver tails & snow tires on our cars,
We love Tim's with devoted loyalty & Canadian Tire shopping is a given,
We invented duct tape, zippers & pablum, but that is not how we are driven,
We have a land that is vast & impressive for it is a sightseers paradise,
Just do appear in a fuddle duddle phone video, would be my only advice,
Happy Birthday to Canada, as future generations are lying in wait,
Our country will be very good to you, as long as you take charge of your fate.
Happy Canada Day !
xx
