Thread: No Rush Rant

I had a work assignment that meant I was going to be out of town for almost 7 weeks (I just got home 4 hours ago).
Before i left, I dropped off BOTH my cars at the repair shop to get new tires/brakes and a list of other stuff done on them. I said 'NO RUSH, I won't be back for 7 weeks'.
Anyway, I just called the repair place because I am eager to get one of my cars back so I can get food and stuff today. They told me, that neither car is ready, might need a few more days.
I told him I will be there in 20 minutes, and I am going to express my feelings very clearly and leave no doubt that this violates my policy of dealing with schmucks.
PS it is -46 with windchill today... no way I am going to walk around for a few days. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by vesper; Mon, Feb 24th, 2014 at 08:58 AM.

yikes!
is this your regular mechanic?
if so i'd change.
my mechanic is able to rebuild an engine in 1 wk
in 7 wks i think he'd be able to rebuild an entire car with toothpicks and tinfoil.

He is! Which is why I am ticked off! My error was giving him such a long time frame. He called back, thought I was going to home Friday and said he'd have one car done today or else he'd let me use his wife's truck until one of them is. I'm sure his wife would be thrilled with that.
ps One week to rebuild an engine? WOW! Either HE is good, or YOU are!

naw my mechanic is that good!
then again it's not one of those small mechanic shops that have a few ppl working.
this one is a fair sized one, with 12 mechanics on staff that work even night shifts.
maybe that's how he gets it done.
not sure haha
seems tho ppl odnt understand the amount of work it is to rebuild something?
he's been our mechanic forever, since i was a lil kid
anyways he tells me when i see him, that ppl want to have done things faster and faster.
