So today my SIL drove up to Ottawa from her small town about half an hour away. We were driving my DS to his first eye doctor appointment and there was a ton of construction going on.

We kept having to stop, start, stop, start, and she turned on the air and said if she didn't turn it on her car always overheated. Then she said she learned that the hard way delivering papers with her son every week.

Well, of course my ears perked up at the word papers! I said, do you ever have any extras? She said yes, we always have at least twenty or more leftover. So I asked her if she could collect the coupon books for me each week and she said NO PROBLEM SIS!!

    YIPPEE!!!!

I also wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for welcoming me into the community with open arms. I've met a lot of wonderful people on here (sheets, lola, bella, giving-small and many others) who have been so helpful and encouraging. I don't know that I would have stuck with it without you all.

My husband learned that he may be going on strike in the next week or two. He works at the local community college and the union may force all the support staff to strike if a new contract isn't reached. Normally something like this would utterly terrify me. It's still scary, but I know we'll be just fine for at least three months without having to worry about buying anything thanks to our stockpile. And all of our credit cards are paid off in case we need to dip into them until the strike is over.

Hopefully it won't come to that, but if it does, I know we'll be just fine and I can't thank all of you enough!

Thanks Millie! Yeah I have been feeling a little left out on the coupons lately because since I've had the baby it's a lot harder for me to search for tearpads. Before Noah was born I would just look around on my lunch break at work (since I worked in the mall) but now you've got to get him dressed, make sure the diaper bag is packed up, fight to get him in the stroller and then when I'm at the mall I get stopped every five minutes by someone who recognizes me and wants to coo at the baby. LOL.

I'm very excited for tomorrow, my best friend is coming over to learn how to coupon. She and her DH are having some hard times money wise so it feels great knowing I can help them save money and hopefully in a few months time they'll be able to say their credit cards are all paid off too!

Good for you helping your friend. Hope your hubby doesn't have to go on strike, but nice knowing you can get by for awhile.

Thanks everyone! I remember awhile back seeing someone's stockpile pics and they had titled it something like It's an Insurance Policy, never thought I'd be needing an insurance policy of my own! I'm so glad that I stopped tinkering around with a coupon now and then and really started to apply myself to couponing. There is no better feeling than knowing you can provide for your family no matter what the circumstances might be.

Oh that was my post . I totally agree and I think it why I posted it that way. No better felling than knowing that you can go without groceries if you had to knowing you have a stockpile on standby! So glad you are doing so well with couponing. I started when I had my DD and I keep seeing the beenfits grow.
