Just finished American Fiction, had no idea it was available with my Prime Channel. What a superb cast! Jeffrey Wright, Sterling K. Brown, Issa Rae, Lesley Uggams, Tracee Ellis Ross....each one of them gave a better performance than the other. Story line highlighted the difficult family relationships are. A comical entertaining flick, 10/10.

arghh!! Again I got tricked by actors who look like someone else! I looked up Late Night With the Devil and was sure the actor who plays Jack Delroy was the same guy from a crazy tv show called Happy. Nope, turns out it is a totally different guy. lol
oh well.

I've taken in quite a few movies over these last few weeks. Some on Disney, Prime and Netflix. I have to guffaw when " critics " pan a
movie on Rotten Tomatoes, yet the film crushes with huge sales at the box office? We all enjoyed the Jo-Lo film Atlas. I don't really care
if it didn't have any deeper meaning or lacked artistic value?? Whatever..... it's meant to entertain and it did. Some comedy and lots of
action and drama, tyvm.
A film from 2022 ( called The Outfit ) but I just heard about it. It was fabulous imho. I kept wondering where I recognized the main actor
portraying the English cutter ( do not call him a tailor. lol ). lol!! In 2016 he played the BFG in a delightful film about giants. ( Mark Rylance )
I cannot remember any of the other films that i took in atm, but none of them stood out as disappointing.Last edited by walkonby; Sun, Jun 2nd, 2024 at 10:13 AM.

The fastest ghost buster movie. It was good. I think it's more nostalgic for me, and my goodness Bill Murray has aged - made me feel even older LOL. My kids 5 and 8 thought the movie was OK.

Watched a movie from 2021 called Old Henry. Main reason was I like the main actor ( Tim Blake Nelson ) from when he played in Brother Where Art Thou. ( now THAT flick was hilarious! ) Weird to see Trace Atkins in a supporting role....gosh that DEEP voice of his is unmistakable ) I rate it a 10/10

I watched Young Woman and the Sea this week on Disney plus. It was based on the life of Gertrude Ederle swimming across the English Channel. It was fantastic
(the nice perk is that Disney plus offered us a 3 month subscription at $2.99 a month to come back to them..)30 295.60 52.80

I found a movie that DH and I could watch together called The Deliverance ( Netflix ). He watched it like a normal person ( eyes open ) who loves getting
scared out of his mind while I laid on the bed, eyes closed and listened to it. He would give me updates like " oh shoot! the Mom just got killed " and other stuff like that. Movie time is so fun!!

I resisted watching Joker: Folie à Deux because the critics had totally trashed it saying it was the worst piece of crap made ( I am paraphrasing ).
However, it was on Crave so I watched and now I am very confused?? I LOVED most of it but it's very graphic, which had me cringing many times.
The tortured character's performance played by Joaquin Phoenix cannot be measured, it's simply off the charts and imho he deserves an Academy
Award for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck.
His span of expressions that came through in song and dance must have been unscripted, he improvised and it worked!
I'm no stranger to musicals, some are more annoying than others BUT the massive talent of the 2 main actors in this movie ( Gaga and Phoenix ) far
outweighs any criticism of the movie for not following the first Joker flick.
I give it a decent 8.5 out of 10Last edited by walkonby; Fri, Dec 27th, 2024 at 10:56 AM.
