quickest version of what is going on here,
(ok not so quick)
have had cousin's kitty (4 years old and often in heat)
here since november (was to be for a month or 2)
and i said i would pay for her shots and her to be spayed
but found i couldn't pet her without being attacked.
kitty had her own room, food, litter box, toys etc.
but hated me being around.
months later she is in my bedroom, and when in
heat the sweetest kitty (ok we know why).
left the door open and hoped, and was ok ish
except for the fighting with 3 other cats,
and so me jumping up and watching everyone a lot.
but started pissing on my bed, first my down duvet,
then anything i had, a pillow, a blanket, every blanket,,,
the sheets,,,did laundry forever one night.
i found out $400 to have her spayed since she has
been in heat before.
cousin can't pay, and i find it hard to think i should.
thought about everything i can do to just have her
spayed without going brokeish,
so turn her in to the local animal control, which
doesn't offer spaying, (but did put my lost kitty
baxter down when he got lost and hit by a car)
and return or have someone return and adopt
her for much less than $400.
seems to be my best option, disgusting though.
extra special, cat i was able to bring in a few years
ago is very upset and also peeing on everything
she is near - latest the oldest cat's pillow,
who ignores them all, walks by them - which most don't.
yikes etc.
any ideas?

beg, borrow or steal that $400.00 needed for spaying
keep shopping around for different prices...... all pets need to be spayed or neautered

Wow, $400 seems really really high. I had my Great Dane spayed for less than that amount, and she was 4 months old and almost 60lbs at the time.
Sometimes the city will have a low cost spay program, and most of the time the SPCA for the province will have those type of programs as well.

That's very pricey, definitely check if there is an organization which offers low cost spay - even check through the city office.

was at the pet store and now have a phone number for the local cat helper,
so hoping she has a connection or 2.
on the other bright side, since i changed up my (lack of) logic and leaving kitty's
door open most of the time - she comes around.
especially fun when the crazy maddy is asleep on the back of my chair,
and kitty walks along the (less than 3 feet away) window sill,
oh and i am in the middle when they notice each other,,,, help,,,

i know this is not the norm if you find yourself in this situation,
but lucky sort of me
kitty still in heat every so often, but now here and there,
other kitties sort of getting used to her, she is a sweet girl
and stays calm unless,,,,
working on a plan to have her spayed though, and wondering
if my cousin will ever ask how she is,,,
