5 Stabbed to death in Calgary suburb

Yesterday, at a mall in downtown Regina, four people were injured in a stabbing. Apparently random, done by a young man.

Crazy and then also the one in Toronto.

This is going to sound a bit " out there " but could that TV show The Following have had any influence on these people who suddenly decide to stab people? My son says no, he said that is the same as saying violent video games cause people to kill.
The young man in Calgary was the son of a 33 year vet with the Police Dept. apparently. Cannot imagine what their family is going through now as well as the victims families.

Stabbings are quite (unfortunately) frequent in Saskatoon - mostly by gang members. And on the increase, not just use of a regular knife you might think of, but machetes.

This and the Calgary incident make me so so sad. What a pointless waste of bright futures in Calgary. About an hour is what separated me from the Regina incident, I work in a business attached to the Cornwall and walk through the mall to go out to the buses at the 11th Ave entrance. I don't believe injuries were life-threatening, but it will still be life changing for those victims.

The guy who did the stabbings in Regina - The 15-year-old is facing three charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and two charges of breach of undertaking. So he's been in the system before.

Three of the victims were sent home from hospital last night, one is still in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
