Thread: Used wrong Optimum card with personalized offer

    I had a get 20x the points WUS $30 and used it today. I didn't realize it until just now but in my hurry to leave the house I grabbed my BF's card by mistake and used his with my personal offer.

    The coupon says points will only be awarded to the card number on the coupon. Do you think the points will still be awarded or am I screwed? What should I do? Call head office?

    I'm pretty sure you won't get the points but I'm only guessing. The offers are pretty clear it is only for the designated card and the SDM computers seem to be good at ensuring the deals work when the cashier enters the code (regardless of what the cashiers think/say). You could return your purchases. Reprint the coupon - take the right card with you and repurchase the stuff...but that seems like lots of work and will depend on how many points you earned, how easy it will be to return everything and how far you have to travel to do returns and repurchase....

    My personal experience is on an offer that got rewarded immediately I did not get the discount. The cashier pointed out the problem, switched cards and then got the offered discount.

    Most likely you won't get awarded. They might be able to help you sort it out if you call head office though. Never hurts to try

    I made the same mistake a few months ago - used my DM's card instead of my own. No 20x the points

    I am sure you will get the points.
    so many times in a hurry my offers get mixed up,I have 3 cards so sometimes I forgot to match the card # but still get the points?if the coupon is scanned you will get the points.
    I did use my husband's card 2 weeks ago for my personal offer and he did get the points.
    dont worry if you don't get the points by the date mention on the coupon then just give them a call and they will transfer the points.

    So I went to see if they could refund the whole transaction and then ring it through with the right card and the supervisor said they don't do refunds?? This store has always been good about things like that but she said it was impossible. WTF?? She was also very rude and condescending, will definitely be calling head office about the points and her snarky attitude!!!

    At my Sdm all staff knows me,
    I forgot to take my wallet with me,there was just coupon folder and some cash in my bag so super visor told me that will work no problem.
    You bring your card on your next visit with your receipt and this way you will get the points.
