thats deffiantly does not add up
i just tryed 2.99 x4=11.96
11.96x1.13=13.51
13.51-2.99=10.52
10.52-2.99=7.53
so your total should have been 7.53 i think i hope im correct

You're not a bad couponer - the deposit on the cans was $2.40 (5 cents x 48 cans) and the tax on all four 12 packs was $1.67
$2.99 * 2 = $5.98 + $2.40 Deposit + $1.67 Tax = $10.05
After you drink them all and return the cans for a refund it will still be a good deal

its the deposit you pay on each can..... i think its 10c /can in NB and you can get 5c back at the recycling depot and you pay tax on all 4 ..i did that too and got charged $7 + i ended up leaving them and getting bottles of pop.. cheaper at 99c for 2L

you should have paid $2.99x2 plus tax on the 2.99x4 so $7.53
Gotta love a good deal!!

Yup it's the deposit and tax that make the cost go up so much.
I just got back from buying a 24 pack of coke for $5.99 (no coupon) and after tax and deposit it was $9 something.RLF Honey Bunches of Oats $1.00

I'm glad in Ontario we don't have to pay for the can deposit. I was just in BC and noticed it was added to my purchase and I was like HU?

I think it's a good idea to charge a deposit. In BC its 5c a can but once you bring them back to the store you get the full amount back. This way things get recycled more instead of getting tossed in the trash.

When I'm considering things as "being a deal or not" , I always factor in the can deposit.
