Beer & armchair commentary thus begins your football dreams,
Huddling, Tackling, Kicking & Time Outs,
Unnecessary Roughness, Field Goals, & even Football scouts,
Unbalanced lines & signals & linemen who are so offensive!
Grid Irons, First & Ten & Back Ends that are defensive,
Backfields, Clotheslines, Double Fouls, & Field Position,
Kickoffs & Man to Man, roll around in Fields of Mud,
Then everyone leaps on some poor guy & they all weigh a ton,
Strategic play & interceptions & all those lines to gain,
I’ve heard that stepping out of bounds can sometimes be a pain,
Quarterbacks, Halfbacks, Safety & Receivers,
Cheerleaders shaking their pompoms for all football believers,
Whatever the weather the game goes on proline players are smiling,
They use luck, & football knowledge & the stats they’ve been compiling,
I do wish them all a safe season & many happy lines of rushin’,
& please be very careful, no one needs another concussion,

Morning all !!! Gonna lay out by the pool today, alone hubbie is working a double and son is attached to his computer and isn' fussy on the sun, it'll be sad without my little girl..... I miss her ....Does it ever get any better???? This is her first time away, I'm sure some of you guys have been through this before. Any advice to being a better long distance Mom???
I sat in her room yesturday and felt the tears well up... I got out quick.....

It gets better Maggie. It's our job to prepare our kids to live independently of us, and this is one of the milestones on on that journey.
I've done is twice. Our son graduated from university in June (another milestone!) and our daughter is starting her second year at university.
Try to set a day and time to contact her, once a week is enough. Let her know she can call you any time.

Are we ready for some football? Chers? Whaddya think our chances are this year? I just hope they do better than "my" CFL team did this year. Kick-off is just minutes away.

Cleaning out a corner of the cottage last week, I came across a magazine from 1979. I can only surmise that the Argos' performance that year was as hapless as this year's. There was a very large spread on advice from the 1950 (or 52?) Grey Cup winners to the 1979 crew. It was great fun reading my Dad's advice and really true to form given that he was an original "there's no I in team" kinda guy.

I'll try to remember to bring it back and share his advice with you - just hope Jim Barker sees it (the only guy on the coaching staff who seems to "get it" is Mike O'Shea - geez, I wonder why?!)

morning all thanks for cash tracks. Just finished playing hockey our first game of the year but we lost 5-4 not a bad game but all right. Took the lower skags out of the snowmobiles and preparing them for the up coming season. sorry about this winter talk but its coming sooner than you think

Thanks for the feedback !! I guess "I" better grow up and accept the many things to come......I guess missing her ( being my bestest bud) had to end... Not "that" much though... I do the call and skype thing once a week reliving family dinner...cazy but it makes me feel better. She says, OMG Mom, you know I love you, always. Once a week and no more. it is what it is!! HUGE milestone..
3 years to my son leaves me !!!
I'm going to cherish them!!!
