I signed up for the Grow with Google event on October 12 at Central Library in Hamilton. Worth paying attention to the banner on the HPL website!

Today I saw Grow with Google postcard event news at my branch. Glad I already registered!
Due to the upcoming holiday weekends, there will not be any Sunday service hours at the Hamilton Public Library on December 23 & 30. Hours after Boxing Day until New Year's Eve will be shortened (and some branches that are not usually open on Friday may be open on Friday Dec.28). https://www.hpl.ca/holidayhours
I noitced that the local college's library hours end from Friday afternoon until January 2.

Due to inclement weather conditions, all HPL branches are closing at 2pm today Saturday, January 19, with the exception of Stoney Creek Branch (already closed) and Binbrook Branch (closing at 1pm). We will re-open tomorrow, Sunday, January 20th regular schedule.
Hamilton Public Library offers over the phone translation services in its branches to customers needing library service in a language other than English. Also look for staff wearing language buttons.

Free Museum access (to regular exhibitions only, not special ones) with your Hamilton Public Library card begins on February 18 (Family Day). A family must ensure each member has their library card with them in order to get museum access.

I'd like to visit the renovated Children's Museum and Dundurn Castle. Which museums do you want to visit?
The Spring Program guide is now available at Hamilton Public Library locations.
Think I'd like to learn about essential oils this spring...:smartass:

Yes, I believe Hoopla was toast as of Feb. 1. I cannot find any links on the website and the Facebook page is not working (saw on Twitter that Facebook and Instagram are having issues this afternoon).
HPL website posted a notice that the Westdale Branch will close for renovations right after closing time on April 13 for 10 weeks. I got confirmation on Twitter that Westdale's magazines will be moved to Locke Branch for circulation during the renovation.
April changes at HPL for holds and borrowing, depending on the kind of library card you have:

Reciprocal cards refer to library cards from other partner libraries (that have agreements with HPL) where non-resident borrowers can register their home library system card with HPL for limited borrowing without having to pay a fee.
Summer library program guides are now available in branches. I've noticed certain programs, thanks to online registration, seem to have filled.
