Just noticed that the HPL site has an item about Friday hours for Turner Park branch on the Mountain-they start next week!
http://www.hpl.ca/articles/turner-pa...h-open-fridays
Great timing, since there are many people in the building using the YMCA centre and there's good bus service plus many homes around the site! Just before March break too.
*Pysanky-Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating fans: Mar. 28 @10am at Stoney Creek branch is the date of the pysanky demo this year.
March What's Happening issue also has March Break activities:

Reminder-this Sunday is the last one for HPL branches to have open hours until late September.
May "What's Happening" was published in the Hamilton Spectator yesterday. Sorry, I cannot find the issue link on the HPL site (where is it).
*Have college or university students needing summer work? HPL has summer literacy program openings but candidates have to apply by next Monday!

HPL's Summer 2015 Program Guide should be out in all branches-adult programs start at p. 38.
June 18 is the date of the Tweetstock event and tickets are $75 in advance for the 9am-4pm event.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Lots of movies for Hobbit fans too.
Note-Wed. June 10, all HPL locations will be closed for a staff professional development day. Just saw the sign posted at Westdale branch.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

The Fall 2015 (Sept.-Nov.) program guide is now available. I assume this quarterly publication is the new format of the former newspaper What's Happening monthly publication.
The adult programs are at the front of the book, with Teen and Children's programs following.
Adult Movies-Saltfleet will show in November the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on November 4 and the sequel on November 11 (in case you missed the Aug. 20 show of the latter at Turner Park).
Health & Wellness-Oct. 26, 2pm at Barton Branch-Find a Family Doctor with Health Care Connect. Need to bring your valid health card to have the RNs from the HCC program help you to find a doctor.
Mention of the Annual Book Sale (location not listed)-Sept. 21-Sept. 26, 9am-6pm. See hpl.ca for any updates on location.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

An update on the book sale-I saw a poster at my branch. Sale location will be in the Jackson Square Food Court next to Freshly Squeezed. Is that the former HPL book hold pickup site/former card store by the Central Branch entrance?
Today's Spec had a Lifelong Learning Week supplement but there was no mention of the book sale in the supplement. Still no mention of the sale on the HPL website banner either! I tried looking for it by searching Central Branch for late Sept but no listing.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
