Dishwasher -Your opinion needed

We currently have black GE Profile Kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, the dishwasher is no longer working. DH's friend who repairs appliances for a living, came over and concluded that the sensor in the touch pad is defective. He had called an appliance parts store in Mississauga & was told it was $200+ to buy the replacement part. Yesterday, I saw an ad in our local newspaper about an appliance outlet store that is having a grand opening in Toronto this weekend & no tax until tomorrow. They have black Blomberg dishwashers with stainless tub $299, MSRP $599. I called the store and asked some questions as I think it's to buy new than repair. The problem is that it's final sale and the product is being discontinued though manufactured in 2014.I got the model # and will do some research shortly.Does anyone have experience with this brand( apparently popular in USA & Europe)? This particular dishwasher? What suggestion/advice can u give to me? Any idea what the average lifespan of a dishwasher is?

I'd go with a known brand, but that's just me. Don't have a dishwasher now, but I loved our Kenmore (Whirlpool).

Home Depot has dishwashers in their main show room. If price is the thing, go to the back of the appliance section. There may be a low price dishwasher there, or in the exit area, as you are leaving.


If you can wait, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Boxing Day deals may include dishwashers.

We are on our 3rd dishwasher in 18 years. It is the only appliance we have replaced in our house.

Never heard of that brand, but in a pinch just get one from Kijiji for the time being until the Black Friday sales come.

My brother has one and is very pleased with it. He has had it for several years.
