Kudos to that cashier for doing it correctly! I had indicated to Head Office when I queried them on P&G coupons and their terms vs. Walmart's overage guideline as the guideline was in place before P&G started putting that wording on the coupon - they had to go to the Office of the President to get a response for me - and they told me that the cashiers should be lowering the coupon value to match the selling price when that wording is there, that they need to update their guidelines and/or memo to every store regarding that since a lot of cashiers are not following that (many don't even bother reading the coupons), which causes problems when someone goes through a cashier that doesn't follow the terms on the coupon and then that same customer goes through another cashier same day/different day and that cashier does follow the coupon term. I have yet to see either an update to the guidelines and/or a memo to the stores regarding it.

I noticed the wording on those coupons as well, however, how does P&G know which items you are buying with those coupons? She could have bought 2 bottles of Nyquil at $9.99 each? I'm willing to bet that WM is still getting the full $2 from them when they submit for reimbursement.
