I'm looking for a protective film to put on furniture items to prevent scratches etc?

Does anyone know where I can buy such a thing? I bought some IKEA furniture and they scratch very easily..I don't want that, I'm looking for some kind of clear film that I can stick on top of the furniture to prevent scratches etc and paint coming off?

Anyone know of such a product?

I hadn't heard of anyone doing that, but the only thing I could think of would be to put on a coating of polyurethane

You can buy clear vinyl at Fabricland, cut it to size but it will slip like a table cloth would.

Thin sheets of plexi-glass?
Custom cut to fit each table. Less slipping around.

I like the polyurethane idea mentioned above.
Stain resistant and wipes up easily. Use 2-3 coats.
Use super fine sandpaper between coats.

mom had a cie* cutting glasses for the living room tables....they cut it the size it needed to ,sanded the edges , and put some kind of '' soft plastic dots'' at some points underneat the glasses to make them not slippy
