Just got back from Goderich. Guess I`m gonna have to wear a hat this winter when I go out. As soon as the cold air hit the back of my head I was in pain again. We stopped at Zehrs for some things...spent over $100 but we were out of some stuff and wanted to stock up in case I can`t drive soon. Spent over $20 on apples alone but thought that`s better to snack on than candy and chips. Wish the PC Plus bonus offer I had would have been for fruit instead of veggies.
wow casey that nreal -what lawyers charge eh
-cant believe its my 5th anniversary on smart canucks this month hard to believe 5 fun years too for saving and chatting
-son cant come roads are bad out where he is -he doesn't want to chance it with baby in car-we may go to him and take the meal -we will see-when hubby gets in-he's late so roads may be bad
Crochetlady, you'll find some hats worth wearing if they keep the cold out while you are outside. Hoods can work if the neck is kept warm and drawstrings minimize wind exposure to the face.
Fleece hats are good for about -10C if snug and if one's shovelling outside and building up body heat. I would not recommend fleece anything for below -10C wear without another layer or suggest different hat/gloves.
For those times you need to curb eating urges and keep hands busy, I find a mug of hot tea sweetened with sugar and milk helps, plus a good hand massage with hand cream at the same time gives you some pampering. This cold weather is doing splits on the hands because I'm not keeping hydrated or moisturized enough.
Jasperandchar-your idea about putting the tree out the door might work! Snow will decorate the tree if you find a good spot that will keep tree upright. Hope the incoming tree takes the decorations better. Would music help with the decorating process?
SassyAshley, it's good to know your car's winter readiness is being considered ahead of the branch visit. Snow meltoff should happen by Saturday! Love your hand creams after a round of dishwashing or cleaning to keep hands rewarded. Your Mom ought to get two meal breaks after each 5h at work. Heat makes stuff easier to do without worrying about more layers or constant dance to keep warm.
Chiffon cake with cocoa and spices will be made tomorrow. Will see if I can make a batch of quick buns while cake is baking.
Today was a day for soups or chili (sorry, it's from packages-heat and serve works for me); need some vegetables as my frozen vegetables are almost used up from adding to soups to add some interest/nutrition. Glad the sun played a bit in the morning before retreating behind snow clouds in the afternoon.
^ Oh, Ciel, chiffon cake! Yum! I've never made one, but my mom used to, and they were SO good - my fave was a spice one.
Hope everyone has a good day today! Hug your kiddies - it's Universal Children's Day!

Off to help with the babies this morning-fun!
Good morning! Snowy day here again but buses were on the road. Kids off to school and mama at work.
Cleaning tonight. Drying and putting away laundry. Leftover tacos with hashbrowns for dinner.
-I am rested and cleaned today load of laundry ,floors washed -dusted ,updated my trade list under the threads
I've been quiet because I've got something on my mind. Making daycare decisions for your bundle of joy takes up a lot of brain space!
We went to the Santa Claus parade last week and it seems like a crazy idea to take babies out to wait for an hour in frigid cold weather. We were too far back to be able to see (because we were waiting for a friend who we never met up with) and LO kept kicking off her boots. Her snowsuit kept riding up and exposing her calves (she's wearing one three months larger than her age) and we left after 40 minutes. Much warmer in the crowd, but there were three people chain smoking around us, and she wanted daddy, then mommy, then daddy, then mommy.... Maybe next year. :)
We plan to get a Christmas tree this year, maybe for next year. It seems like stores will say a tree is 6'5" tall, but the tree itself will fill out to 6', with the other 5" is reserved for the star topper. I saw one last week, but it was 4' (so 3'5") and I think the little one will outgrow that one quick, unless we put it on something. It wasn't on sale so I passed by the $50 tree.
Does anyone think the ones with the lights are worth getting or are they a pain when some of the lights need to be replaced?
You need to be careful when it comes to pre lite trees as most of the you cannot replace the bulbs and when one bulb goes out none of them work. I have heard many horror stories (my mom has worked more than one Christmas on cash at Michael's)
Perhaps put an ad or call a college/university and see if you can get a paralegal or law student to draw up the agreement of course your soon to ex has to agree to what will be included otherwise you will need to make changes which of course take time and cost $.
Also not wanting to pry as it's non of my business but here are some other things to consider.
Is your name of the title of the house? If not I would strongly not agree to leaving the home in his name without your name on the title somewhere because and please don't take offense.
If you re-marry down the road before your kids are 18 years of age your ex will no longer be obligated to pay any child support, the new husband is now a provider for your children
2) your ex will under go a credit check when looking to rent a place or purchase and he may not qualify depending on the type of income he has
3) don't take the $1800.00 as a fixed amount because if your ex purchases another home the courts do take into account his income and expenses and if he has 2 mortages (he has 2 mortgages) not you that is a considered factor
4) if for some reason your ex declares bankruptcy (could happen you never know) that home will put for sale to recoop monies.
5) if your dh maxes himself out or if he goes on sick leave or gets his hours cut this is all taken into account when a mandated amount is decided for child support.
6) if some of the children are not biologically his he may not has to pay for that childs child support
7) if your dh is on sick leave, etc or goes on EI that child support amount will greatly be reduced.
8) if the house is in your ex's name and god forbid but he passes away if you are not in his will or have title on that house you may be evicted
9) If the home was purchased before you were married by your ex technically the house is his and you have absolutely no claim unless you are on title
not meaning to make you worry more these are just some things that you may not have considered.
I studied law for 2 years not a lawyer but equivalent to what is now considered a paralegal, all of Canada follows the same laws with the exception of the province of Quebec.
well I'm stuck with this stupid Christmas tree (sigh) oh well the one in the WM flyer is a Charlie brown tree. The problem with the existing tree is the metal hooks which I put on ornaments to hang don't stay on the stupid branches, there is no flex to the branches and the ornaments fall off or you need to use ribbons, anyways....
SS-perhaps we have been lucky but we have had a tree with lights for a few years and have had no problems with ours. My DH loves it as it is quick and easy to put up and take down unlike the real ones of yesteryear!
