To give a conniving, immature little *pardon the french* what he deserved.

I was out for coffee with a friend along with my partner. We were all minding our own business and as we left, some brats in the car next to ours had the nerve to scream out some awful, hurtful things to us, but mainly my partner.

Now, just a sidenote as to what they were screaming about which I will not be repeating: My partner is overweight, probably in the obese category. She knows that, but it's not like she can change that overnight. I, myself am also overweight and I took offense to it as well.

Now, I know the idea is to be the bigger person (no pun intended), but sometimes I feel like fighting back is the only way. I came home after this instance and just started crying. Some people can be so cruel.

I have a very close friend who is in the 500lbs range, and he's openly gay which makes it a very tough time for him. I remember one day going down a large escalator in Vancouver in a futureshop... as we were going down I was farther up than he was and as some ignorant late teens passed him they made a comment that HE thank god didn't hear, but unluckily for them I did. I turned around and outright said "you ignorant little s***s should watch what you say, you never know who is listening" and gave them a death glare... they looked a tiny bit scared.

I TOTALLY understand how hard it is.... some people need to think before they speak.

Gr... some peoples' kids! (yeah, who grow up to be ignorant adults...)

I know, too, it should be taken as water off a duck's back, but it still hurts - so I understand how you both were feeling.

sorry to hear this, I hope what they have done doesn't wreck your opinion of every kid though - I know they can be cruel but they are not all that way. I grew up being made fun of because I am chunky and developed boobs in grade 4.. Don't let them get to you, life is too short & I'm sure karma will kick their butts when they get older.

I look at it from another point of view, when people open their yaps and stupid crap comes out about me, I dont even think about it, or let it bother me. I just think how sad this person must be in some area of their life to attack a stranger. People who have something wrong in their lives that they cant control are usually the ones who do these things.

Another thing, if you love yourself, the comments dont hurt you anymore. I used to get picked on, had even my ex say mean things to me, but I worked on me and who I was and now I feel good about myself inside, so when someone does say something, I laugh it off. I dont let words hurt me anymore.

I am sorry people are jerks tho

Ah the mouthy ones are pretty tough when they are surrounded by their friends.
My good friend is deaf, and it is obvious that she has a speach impediment, but growing up, there was always the ballsy one that would make fun of her for it. I dont hesitate to remind them they are ignorant SOB's and then point out in a nice calm voice, something about their appearance that is less than perfect. Embarrassing them back in front of their friends is priceless, and I would hope that next time they would think twice about opening their mouth about someone else in fear of being called out on it.

I'm really sorry to the OP for having those comments thrown at you. As many have mentioned, they are idiots. I used to work in a grocery store and had many customers point out how "fat" my coworker was. It's unnecessary, why bother pointing it out? Do you think she's going to go home and look in the mirror for the first time ever? Thanks, jerks.

Although you are seemingly only trying to help your friend out, voicing something "less than perfect" about someone's appearance only adds to the bullying issues. No one should be made to feel upset about their appearance.

Agree. I was made fun of quite a bit in high school and it's not a great feeling. Also, on two occasions, I was asked if I was a boy or a girl.

Sorry to hear that such rude ignorant people are around who would say stuff like that, they probably have a hard time looking themselves in the mirror and hate them selves as why would they carry such anger they need to be pitied and are not to be worried about I hope you can forget those horrible people.

It's significant that it was a "group" - probably someone in that group also feels victimized - that bully - and that's what he is - will hopefully get "educated" in school - there is a real push on "defusing" bullies there.

It makes my heart just ache! that you and your friend were so hurt by this incident! Hopefully hearing from a dozen of us - positive things- will help to "salve" the wounds!

I might have been tempted to turn around and just take a picture of their car with my cellphone - no message except - "you are not anonymous" in ignorance!

    Hugs to you!
