I found this posted on Facebook, and think it's a wonderful idea!
This Christmas program is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but I am sure there are similar programs throughout the country. For example, there is a very well-organized program in Calgary.

My friend heads up the one here in Red Deer through Family and Social services, a very worth while cause.
My Daughter is an intake worker for the Salvation Army, so we decided this year that this would be our families gift to the community this year.We adopted four families of single mothers, I was looking forward to shopping and wrapping but just had a serious health issue and will not be able to so the my grown kids are doing the shopping for the me and I will do the wrapping.
