Universal Children's Day is an opportunity to focus on the rights of the child and the challenges facing today's children. This date marks the anniversary of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Declaration on the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989).
"We were all children once. And we all share the desire for the well-being of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind."- United Nations.
What if children ran the world?
Do we listen enough to them, hear them speak?
How did you see the world as a child,
and what would you have wanted changed?

if children ran the world, there would be more sharing and friendship
adults like to "keep up with the Jones"
children like to make friends and not compete
when children are exposed to adult ways of competing and oneupmanship, they tend to change to be like the adults
if chldren ran the world, we would not have as many wars IMHO

Children have so many amazing qualities... imagination, curiosity, excitement. They have the most amazing capacity to love, trust and forgive. One day you may be fighting in the sandbox and the next day it is forgotten and you work together to build a little sand town.
In the world ran by Children, I don't think we would be living a life based on money and getting ahead... I think we would be living a life full of passion and excitement, working for the joy of doing what we love, exploring the world around us, seeing the good in others and forgiving the bad.

Shwa Girl and beckie, what great answers!
It's really true - it would be a much more pleasant world, more time for play, and much less stress.
Simple solutions to problems which adults make much too complex, that's for sure.

To add to others' great answers, there wouldn't be racism. Children don't care about skin colour or which country one is from.
They also don't care about their looks and their image. Cosmetic surgery wouldn't exist. They can wear the most crazy outfit and they wouldn't care.
