Thought I'd start a fun thread where SCers can post items they recieved free due to the Scanning Code of Practice. Please state the name of the store and the item you got free as well as the shelf price/scanned price.

I was at Wal Mart yesterday, got an 8 pk of Pizza Pops in the 3 meat variety free. The shelf price was $4.97 but the product scanned at $5.97.

I have a question about scop. This week royale paper towels 6 packs is on sale for $4.99. Yesterday i went to walmart and the shelf price was $7.97 but the scanner price was still $4.99. Does it apply for scop or not? I didn't try to take any chance and didn't buy it.... I think i should've tried..

Scop is the other way around if the shelf said $4.99 but rang up $7.97 then the scanning code of practice applies

I get a free item at least once a week due to the scanning code of practice, usually at Zehrs. However, this week I got one at No Frills.

Cedar Falafel Mix: Shelf price 90 cents, register price $1.79.

French's Salad Cravers at Food Basics. Sign said $1.99. Scanned $2.49. Turns out they forgot to take down an old sign, but manager gave it anyway

Interesting thing happened today at RCSS, I got a Grace soft drink as the shelf price was 0.69 but the product scanned at 0.89, the cashier charged me tax on the free product. She said store policy is that I had to pay the tax and I would only get one free d item (I was only buying one drink anyway). By one free item, she meant only one item free regardless of whether you had a different item that qualified for SCOP (which I didn't).
