Hello, this is catberry, 19, in university :3

I just started getting into these saving things, and I think it's great to be able to save so much from what people usually spend, and it's always so amazing to see all those savings people have made, so I want to try hard too ^ ^

if anyone has any tips on getting started, or how to find coupons, or good strategies for using them or saving more, please share your secrets X3

first off congrats to starting on a track of savings!.. i will be honest.. it's what i tell every new couponer.. couponing is NOT for the faint of heart.. it can be time consuming and it takes effort (watching deals, learning prices holding onto coupons till just the right time to use them, always having your coupons with you)

but don't let that all scare you away.. couponing is a lifestyle a great one it teaches great skills like budgeting and saving

first place to start.. open up your cupboards and look at your consumables (food, personal care, bathroom needs, paper products, medical) and ask yourself "do they make coupons for these??" if your not sure make a list of products you buy regularly and feel free to ask!

next building a coupon stash after you find out what coupons you'd use try trading to get them (stamps are often a great trading part.. the trade average is $5 worth of coupons for 1 stamp) many SCers have "newbie coupon packages" which will be a mix of random coupons

coupons can be found all over the place, when buying cereal always look to see if there is a promo on the box (this can be coupons off, free products, bonus offers) Tear pads are also available but they only get put out about once a month and they do tend to go fast

i'm not sure where you are located but often in a local section of this board there are local couponers who are happy to meet up and chat coupons share coupons
