For example, if one particular store has new coupons on October 1, on either October 29 (4 weeks) or November 5 (5 weeks) you should see new coupons for non-perishable products. The pads should be replenished every week for perishables such as yogurt and cheese (depending how busy the store is and how often the sales rep has to come to that store). Every store is different so you just have to figure out the routine of the sales reps at the particular stores you frequent. Just remember that sales reps for bread and dairy have to come more frequently than for other longer life shelf products.

In my area, I find coupons for items that often go on sale hang around longer. For items that rarely go on sale, the coupons disappear quicker. Maybe it's because people think (like I used to) that you can't use them at the same time as a sale .
The company smartsource have rep going in store to put the coupons each month. So when you have a big load of new coupon, those are the smartsource one usually. They change every month, this is why it time to take the coupon when you saw them. After a period of time (usually one month), the rep employee from smartsource remove the pad from the shelf. This is what the lady explain to me one time when I asked her (she was removing the coupons, so I ask). They try to come regularly to fill the pad thing, more often on store more visited, on thursday (pay day!), friday.

Other coupons (non smartsource) are called "cowboy coupon". They are put in store by the rep from the company of the product, or the rep with stand and tasting stuff. Those coupons are "more rare" than smartsource coupon and sometime have better $ off amount.

    Hello everyone!

There are a lot of coupons out there and some sound really interesting to me.
My question for all of you is then do you go into the store just to look for coupons or do you only go if you're buying something?
I feel really guilty going up to the coupon board and taking one or two and then walking out but more often than not the stores with the coupons don't necessarily have the best prices. What does everyone usually do?

I totally understand you! I had/have the same problem I've "kind of" resolved it by planning ahead by looking at all the flyers of the week and then making a list of what I want at each store (usually, there are always cheap items at even the most expensive stores just to lure people into the door). Anyway, so I combine a little bit of shopping with couponing. I can't make myself to go into a store just to grap some coupons, not brave enough (yet?!?)
I do go several times a week, but I usually always manage to pick up at least one or two items while in-store. For example, this week, I was in several different IGAs stocking up on Canton soup, Kozy Shack, and lactose-free milk (there were bonus miles on it this wk). So I was able to go frequently and not feel like a total coupon bum!

I actually go in ''just'' for coupons.. I feel a little weird doing it but hey I won't spend 5-10$ just so I can grab coupons. I figure it kind of beats the purpose..

I will tell you that I'm very conscientious doing so and I feel really weird as if I'm doing something wrong. But in the end I do not think I'm stealing.. Am I ????

I feel like a bit of a coupon bum too... I'll try to buy at least 1 item on sale (that I need)... even if it's just coffee cream. My boyfriend calls it "trolling"

Friends don't let friends trade at max value

Tbites, trolling is a good word, I use it too for the same activity (applied to myself LOL)...trolling, hunting, stalking (for ex., I want the Pam Egg coupon! haha).

You forgot the "s"....it's strolling....great way to get that extra walking exercise to fit into your schedule .

I do like you, Miaow. I plan my shopping and coupon seeking trips together and will frequently make short stops on my way home from work/driving son to school for sales items at different stores. Both work and school are about 40 minutes from my home and there are plenty of stores in between to get my coupon....er....exercise needs taken care of .

hehe snuff, it's true, I HAVE been walking more since I started couponing, which is great! The thrill of finding a new coupon is alive in my veins LOL..

Ok, so today at Loblaws, found a coupon I think may end up being useful at some point:

Save $5 on any three Garnier products (face/hair, everything) Exp. Dec 31 2012 AND I think there is no size restriction on this one
