What are people doing with their Red Cards (debit)? I'm wondering if I have to call my bank to make sure it's deactivated.

Cashier at St-Laurent Ottawa had no clue today when they close and was surprised it was announced in the news that it was April 4th... I hate that they can't even advise staff before going to the press on things like that... That's their job and they rely on a salary which will stop without even a notice! I feel bad for all target employees! . Hope they all find a good job elsewhere!

If their stores are closing early, they get salary continuance until mid May so they are not out money without notice
They are telling staff ten days before closing (basically when they put up the closing in 10 day signs)

Employees were advised in February that their last day of work would be May 16 unless their store closed before that, at which point they would continue to be paid until that date. 16 weeks notice is mandatory for any company letting go of 500 or more employees. They are only doing what is required by law
