gosh.. he's been on night shifts atleast 8 years now... there was a point where he did night shifts at two jobs (full time at his reg job then 2 nights janitorial) for about a year right right after we got married.. but other then that.. he did take a year.. well 8 months off when missy kidlet was born (he took the parental leave because i was on EI when i found out i was pregnant with her) and he's been on the nights ever since.. the hours can vary by a bit but it is the whole night thing (goes into work 8 or 9pm comes home 5 or 6am kinda thing)

Wow....I couldn't even imagine. 8 years! I have been getting over 3 years always a minimum 4 hrs apart...often more. Good for you for keeping connected on these terms and raising a little squirt.

well we've been together 15yrs (he was my highschool prom date lol not too many people can say that) been married 10yrs now...we are often passing in the night sort of thing during the week and chat on yahoo on his breaks.. and we have our weekend sunday night dinner every sunday at 10pm i make a roast we sit and watch a show together and stuffs... though this past weekend with kidlet gone we went out to a movie together which is somewhat rare having no regular babysitter... he isn't a big movie person... though when i met him his mom owned a video store what he worked at lol

I am not even FB friends with my high school sweetheart!! That always sounds like such a cliche - but I think maybe one that everybody dreams of. I wish you many many years of happiness.

Me....I am starting to fade and my basket of laundry is folded! I gotta make a habit of this...! I will miss this thread since technically it is over today, right?

funnily enough my parents were highschool sweethearts (met when they were about 15) my mom used to freak out a friend of mine whenever she got a new boyfriend and say "you know... i was dating her father at your age" and hubby's parents are similar... been together since teenagers...

sadly i think this thread ends somepoint today.... there are other threads to haunt though lol

lol well when i say that i've been with the same person for 15yrs i feel like an old maid too (in about 3 more years i get to day i've spent half my life with the same person lol)

I have a dsihwasher too! But it always leaves crud on everything. I have dug the icky food goop out and ran it empty a few times....but it still doesnt clean worth a sh!t. Maybe someone will come along tomorrow with some suggestions. LOL! Cuz I hate dishes! And laundry.....

Some people will run it (no dishes obv) with CLR. We've done this in the past. Food bits were getting into the holes of the water spinner (dunno if that's the name) and dishes weren't getting cleaned.

as an actual irish person I love seeing the ways that north american media's portray the Irish and ST. patricks day. We don't do half the stuff you guys love about us, and your St Patricks days traditions are not related to ireland in the slightest, well apart from the getting drunk part.

I feel like a lot of you guys, ,mostly Americans though must get disappointed when you visit Ireland for the first time and realize that it is a normal place, with no magic and no mischievous little leprechauns zipping around with gold. Ireland gets its fair share of Racial Stereotypes, i have noticed since I moved away..

EDIT: haha I just realized it is actually st patricks day today, some Irishman i have become :/ :p
