Only around 25-30% of Trumps supporters are registered republicans, possibly even less. Contrast that with 85% for Rubio and 80% for Cruz. His point being that Trump actually has little chance of being the nominee
There's still time in many states..as the Republican National Convention starts on July 18th 2016..

I brought that up and he pointed out that history has shown people rarely register to support a candidate. many of his supporters are actually registered democrats apparently with no intention of switching but will vote for him if he is the candidate.

Trump questions whether Cruz can be president

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has questioned whether rival candidate Ted Cruz is eligible to become his party's nominee because he was born in Canada.
Mr Trump called it a "very precarious" issue for the party and said that Mr Cruz's nomination could be challenged in court.
Mr Cruz was born in Calgary to an American mother and a Cuban father.
Most legal experts believe Mr Cruz meets the requirements to be president.
The Cruz campaign responded by saying Mr Trump had "jumped the shark" - a pop culture reference to when a TV show or fad has overreached and fallen into decline.
The Texas senator is performing well in polling in the early voting state of Iowa. While Mr Trump leads most polls, several surveys show Mr Cruz is the top choice of likely Republican voters.

Which is as idiotic as Saying obama couldnt be president.

The law says Natural born citizen, which Cruz and Obama both are. Cruz was born to American parents and is a natural (i.e. not naturalized) citizen and thus eligible

Whats idiotic is that Cruz isnt fighting trump back over it. Only candidates to have called Trump out are Rubio and Bush

Rubio is experiencing a surge right now....he is a voice of reason among the republicans and would be a great president if elected

Here in the UK we understood that Mr Obama was born in Kenya with a Kenyan father and an American mum and he was brought up in Hawaii by his grandparents and his mother then married an Indonesian or did we get it wrong, apparently all documents are sealed and not available for scrutiny.

...and Cruz wins over Trump in Iowa! wow!

Clinton and Sanders seem to be in a dead heat. Pretty close between Cruz 27.65% and Trump 24.31% too though

Extremely close between Trump and Rubio as well. Rubio did 10% higher than expected. He was the real standout of the night

Sounds like something from the Sunday Sport..Certainly papers like the Times, Guardian, Telegraph, Independent as well as the Daily Mail and Mirror along with BBC and ITN agree that President Obama was born in Hawai'i to an American mother and a Kenyan father and brought up there and later in Indonesia with his mother, step-father and half-sister.

Trump wasnt expecting a defeat last night. He was completely deflated. Rubio on the other hand used his speech to further his campaign and reach a new audience

^Rubio's promise that the Iran Nuclear Deal will be canceled on day 1 is probably resonating with Americans.
