I'm very much like both of my parents.
Each had a fabulous sense of humour, which I have.
Both had great strength of character, in different ways. My Dad's was more overt, my Mom's quieter - I was always like my Dad in that regard, and with getting older I've also learned the softer strength Mom had.
Empathy
Honesty
Loyalty
Confidence
Optimism
All positive, which I am SO grateful for.
Well, then there is being stubborn - yeah, I share that, too. Not always a negative, depends upon how one looks at it and uses it!

I can answer based on my kids...
My daughter looks very similar to me. My son looks like DH. Except their personalities are reversed. lol.
DS is very similar to me in personality, he has the same mannerisms and seems to think and act like me. He's even left handed like me. DD is very similar to DH, she has the same quirky personality and reacts to things the same way. I know exactly how to talk to her because of years of experience with DH. lol.
It's so interesting to see your personality traits in your kids.

Believe it or not, family members have frequently said:
That’s just like your grandmother. She would do it/say it/respond to it in the exact same way.
She is gone but I guess her characteristics live on in me.

In most ways my Mom and I really couldn't be more different, she's all hunting/outdoors and I'm all art museums and makeup She has to plan everything down to the last detail, and I can be very spontaneous. Someday's I will end up channeling more of her personality, especially when I need to be organized and get things done. Our similarities come from our core values but that is about it. (Independence, Empathy, Honesty, Compassion, etc)

The only trait I have is stubbornness (from my dad). Otherwise I'm not like them and never plan to be (their behaviour, actions etc). I'm quite the opposite and will stay that way.
