Please don't feel you need to defend yourself. It's a shame this poster did this to you.

I guess I missed part of this thread that was removed, sounds like it got interesting in here today.
For organization, I say let your kids be kids. There is a difference between a messy house and a dirty house. Messy means people live there, especially kids. The fact that you coupon, that you do it mainly to donate, and have several kids is amazing. I only have two kids and my coupons are everywhere. I'm trying more and more to catch up with keeping them organized, whether I'll ever succeed, I don't know. What I now to when it comes to inserts is I'll stack the same pages, ten thick and then staple near the edge of the coupon or paper clip it and then cut. instead of loose coupons I end up with multiple bundles of ten laying around - much easier to pick up than ten scattered coupons courtesy of my children playing with them. If it's trade coupons, don't worry as much about having them organized. I used to go to trades with an organized binder. Now I got with a binder and a baggie of coupons I haven't sorted. It's more important to me that I know where the coupons I will use for myself/family/donations are, than the ones for other people to go through for trading. If someone doesn't like me handing them over in a baggie for them to look through, then they clearly aren't interested in trading with me. When I get a bunch of coupons I won't use I just dump them in a box for later and take them out when I need things for trades or trains. Everything else I try to keep organized but it doesn't happen - binder, baggies of coupons, a couple small accordion files. Is there a hoarding club for coupons? I'll be relieved when the end of the month comes and I can purge all the Oct 31 expiry coupons that are kicking around. Until then I don't want to just in case a good sale starts before then!

I seem to have missed the nasty post made by the not so nice person
- and can't say I am sad I missed it.
I have great respect for Blk_rose and admiration for the work she does. I have received ROAKs from her, and admire her millions of times. She faces trials in her life too, yet, she takes on the world and is ready to help anyone in need.
I hear you Blk_rose - re your running around - it never ends....I know - pretty much do a lot of the same except for having under 18 kids - phew!!!
A bus pass would be a good idea for the big lad, but maybe that is also quality time for you guys during the ride....
As for expired coupons - it makes me sad, but I have had many a time when I see a real good one - expired - and .......... oh well - I say a prayer for it and let it go

Is the idea for the show to showcase people that hoard stuff they got with coupons, or to showcase the people who just hoard the coupons?
There were Ketchup coupons out? Where? I must have missed them. If only my kids would use mustard on their fries instead of Ketchup I'd be happy.....mustard I can get for free at least.

Hey aww - tip - always ask for lots of packs of ketchup when you buy fries at McD! I think I have a stash built up that way!!!

I think you would qualify for either hoard, but the season opener should be both, don't you think?
****sarc on**** With all the coupons and all the products Blk_rose has been hoarding, she seems the natural choice. *****sarc off****

If you also ask for extra ketchup on your burger, you can just open the bun and dip your fries in it, thereby saving ALL the ketchup packets. Vinegar is also easily aquired in this manner.

mhk - good idea. Except we go through drive thru. And my kids are not having ketchup in the van. And I'd forget it in the van or in the bag and it would just get tossed. Plus my kids want to open the packets themselves and even in the house, well they'd make a mess. I wonder if I can train them to like mustard instead. Or Newmans or Hidden Valley dressing...those are all freebies too, lol. I draw the limit at taking the little packets of ketchup to refill the big ketchup bottle thought I'm sure it's been done!

Just my 2 cents for Blk Rose. When I had my coupon binder stolen out of my car, she was the first person to come to my rescue and drive to my house on her time and hand deliver some extra coupons she had to help me start over.
