No photos yet, but DH just planted ( for the 3rd time this Season ) a fresh batch of baby lettuce seeds. They grow so fast, are delicate, tender and never bitter. A great thing for a newbie green thumb enthusiast to try growing.

Every year i plant Ground Cherries and have never had any problems. But this year, there is something eating the leaves. The bugs look like the same orangy coral colour as potato bugs that eat potato leaves. I dont want to use any kind of insecticide because we eat the ground cherries. Any ideas what i can use.

This morning in between rain drops, i picked some shallots for potato salad, about 10 Ground Cherries and 3 large tomatoes that broke off the fine overnight. One was a nice red colour and the other 2 were green but going to put them on the window to ripen. I still have some yellow cherry tomatoes on the vine but i think my yellow beans are finished.

I know I should have cut of the garlic scapes when they started to curl but I didn't now I have these bitty seeds, how many seasons til they are a decent size if I replant now?
Also my garlic that I planted is quite small I was told due to not cutting off the scapes, so do I keep and use, or replant ? All or just the biggest ones?

Theres not much you can do with those bitty garlic. Too small to plant for next year, might be a good idea to use them but would be a biatch to peel them.
