Just to let you know I personally did NOT have to actually fill any form out. ( I never have before either ) I simply gave my card into them, showed them my I.D. and THEY filled out/checked off whatever they were doing on this form and then they turned the form around and asked me to sign to the right of where they had written my name in.
This was for every single person that approached the table.
The person in charge there did say this was something " new " that they had to do this year AND that this form would NOT be used at all on the actual election day, only was used in the advanced polling. I am waiting for a call back from Elections Canada as I made my inquiry about this a short while ago.

How are you going to follow election night? By TV, by computer, or by waking up next day and reading the papers ?

Since my husband isn't into all of the minutiae and we only have one tv, I'll watch a news channel online - and also follow our local results by radio both online and physical radio if I'm elsewhere in the house.

It's going to be a heck of an exciting night!

so.......did anybody go to the advance polls? I ask because I did, DH saw the lineup and walked back home. I stood there wondering why the line was not moving at all? So I look over and see only ONE cardboard voting box thingy?
I asked why and was told it is the law in the advanced polling ( they can have only one in each polling station )

A fellow behind me asked why the gals are so slow processing the people though, and he was told that this year at the advance polls the gals have to fill out a questionnaire with 17 ( ) fields they have to check off, then they write the voters name in there AND the voter then has to sign on the space provided!??

Anyone experienced that?
The person who was telling us all this showed us the form and she said they had voters coming in today as well as the other days and when they were told to sign they walked away!
So on voting day they will have like 5 or more stalls where voters can place their votes, I think DH made the right call on this one, I was there for 35 minutes!

There were 3 boxes at my station, not sure what's up with that.

They are all closed but your school may not necessarily be a voting station. Kiera's is not this year.

Really? They're closing schools in Quebec for voting day? I don't remember that happening when I lived in Quebec or here in Nova Scotia. My memory might be faulty though. I'm starting to feel the years.

Neither school is a polling station but they are private schools..I'm guessing if the buses aren't running , they will be closed as well. IIRC, they were last election.
