Ladies and Gentlemen of Smart Canucks!
The month of Movember has flown by and alas it is December 1, 2011!!!
The "draw" has been completed in the following manner:
Chris went to his next door neighbour and asked her to pick either the number 1 or the number 2 (after explaining why he was asking such a weird question)!
She selected the #1 so the WINNER OF THE TIM HORTON GIFT CARD IS KRAZE!!!!
KrazE has already confirmed her home address so the contest is now officially over!
To all the members of SC, thank you for at least reading this thread. Both Chris and I hope you have at least learned a bit about the campaign and the reasons behind it.
A clean shaven pic of Chris will be posted later for comparison!
As of right now, he is unsure of whether he will do this again next year but says he has 11 months to decide anyhow!
Thank you to all!
Here are the chronological pictures of Chris during the campaign, beginning with the first photo of November 8th:

Then on November 13th:

Then on November 23rd:

Then November 30th:

Now the photo of the "stacheless" Chris on December 1st:
More information on Movember:
About The Campaign
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.
The Movember Effect: Awareness & Education, Survivorship, Research
The funds raised in Canada support the number one male cancer, prostate cancer.
The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men’s health partner, Prostate Cancer Canada. Together, the two channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with our strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.
For more information on the programs we are funding please visit the following:
Prostate Cancer Canada
Movember - a global movement
Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.1 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate, with formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and Ireland. In addition, Movember is aware of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas supporting the campaign and men’s health cause across the globe, from Russia to Dubai, Hong Kong to Antarctica, Rio de Janeiro to Mumbai, and everywhere in between.
No matter the country or city, Movember will continue to work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, getting them to act on that knowledge thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
In 2010, nearly 119,000 Canadian Mo Bros and Mo Sistas got on board, raising $22.3 million CAD.

Can you please tell me where the funds go? prostate cancer?
Can you tell me what has been done with the funds for prostate cancer since last Movemer?
Can you tell me how many Canadian men are diagnosed and (sorry to ask) or die of prostate cancer each year?
I'm just trying to learn more.
I read the links but I did not get answers to my questions above.
Thanks!

On average, 11 Canadian men will die of prostate cancer every day.
About 8 years ago, my dad had to undergo treatment for his prostrate. As far as I knew, everything was good, he spent time in the hospital, had it looked after and seemingly no other issues. Fast forward to today, he has been in the hospital for the last 2 months, from what started out as a sore shoulder. Tests revealed a cancer tumor had grown in his spine, resulting in a compound fracture. Doctors said in men, it most often comes from prostrate cancer, (or lung), and ends up growing in the bone.
He underwent surgery, they scooped out the cancerous bone, and rebuilt his spine. He is doing radiation ect, but right now is paralyzed from the nerve damage. Its too early to tell whether he will walk again. The original prostrate surgeon is part of his team of doctors who have done an amazing job so far, but still, it has turned everything upside down, and my dad will never be the same.
KrazE Im sorry to hear that your father is dealing with prostrate cancer, and theweave it is great to hear you are getting involved!Do you want to buy and sell Bitcoin? Hi Bella! I am assuming you referring to the member page, on the right hand side where it says "Donations. To You=$10"??
Be assured that Chris is NOT getting the money! I think that simply refers to donations made for that particular participant. You are allowed to donate under a persons name (like Chris) or you are allowed to make a straight donation without anyone getting the credit for it! It is just a way of keeping track how much Chris has raised so far.
As for the other questions, thanks to KrazE for answering them since I did not see them in time. I will go edit the original post for more clarity since others might have questions as well.
Hope this answers your question(s), if not, please let me know!Is it baseball season yet?

Try this page. It is all about the programs that are funded with the money from Movember.
http://ca.movember.com/about/beneficiary1
Otherwise, when you are on the Movember page, look on the left hand side for all of the links. Everything is there, they have nothing to hide. This has been going on for a while now and it is a registered charity.
Hope this helps!

This is a terrible disease - any guys on here reading this - please make an appt with your doctor & get a physical done; don't wait until it's too late.

KrazE and miztia, so sorry to hear about your dads.... Cancer sucks.

Way to go Chris, for doing this. Have you chosen a 'style' for your 'stache yet? My son's going for a Fu Manchu, but I doubt he will survive the kidding! Husband is growing full beard and stache.

Natalka,
Chris is not sure what he is going to do! He would like to do the "Rollie Fingers" handle bar stache but will probably just let the sucker do what it wants!
He did use that thread to post the pic but it still came out huge!!! He is still looking for a way to shrink it!Is it baseball season yet?

Okay downloaded a nice program called "PIXresizer". It shrunk the picture to a much more acceptable size!!!
UPDATE: So far Chris has raised $20, which includes his own personal donation.
Don't forget about the $5 Tim Horton Gift Card contest mentioned in the first post! Come on out and rally around Chris and support a great cause! Is it baseball season yet?
